Guidelines for Nominations

Introductory information

The Distinguished Contribution to Psychological Science Award recognises distinguished theoretical or empirical contributions to psychology by psychologists at mid or later career stages. The contribution may lead to the understanding or amelioration of an important practical problem.

Eligibility criteria

(a) Candidates should be currently engaged (directly or indirectly) in innovative research in any field of psychology, which represents a major influence on the direction of research in the scientist

’ s area (Note: Candidates need not necessarily be members of the Society).

Nomination requirements

(a) Candidates must be nominated for the Award by a Member of the Society

(b) Nominations should be submitted using this form and must include:

(i) The Candidate’s curriculum vitae

(ii) Details of all publications, prizes, and grants that the Candidate has previously been awarded

(iii) Copies of up to five (5) selected publications, with a one (1) page cover letter indicating why they have been selected and how they reflect the Candidate’s contribution.

(c) Nominations should be submitted electronically in PDF format to the Administrator,

Science and Education, Australian Psychological Society via science@psychology.org.au

, by the closing date.
