Initial exploration phase, with limited geophysics and geothermal data
indicating good heat sources with geothermal capacity.

The project seeks to establish the potential of these geothermal occurrences
turning them into profitable power generating ventures.
preliminary indications based on reconnaissance geophysics and drilling in
areas with hot water springs returned geothermal sources with temperatures
above 160®C. Geophysical surveys indicated the presence of high temperature
bodies related to volcanic intrusions and carbonatites which are all associated
with the East African Rift system. Further geophysical and drilling work is
required to establish the depth, temperature and hence, the potential for
geothermal power generation.
Two licences over the geothermal properties granted in 2010 as PL
No.6373/2010 covering 11.84 sq.km and PL6373/2010 covering 86.91 sq.km
both located at Kisaki, Morogoro region.

Accessibility to the project area is by road from Morogoro town, to Matombo
District, then Mgeta, Kisaki and uphill to Maji ya Weta. From there is is about
40km SW into the Selous Game Reserve.
There is also a possibility of using the TAZARA Railways from Dar to Kisaki, and
then by road again to Maji ya Weta and project site.
The area is rather in a remote area, which means proper and careful logistics
planning.
Water is plenty and readily available in the area, though has to be property
treated before use.

Un-skilled labour can easily be obtained from surrounding villages, though
skilled labour will have to come from other places.
