PROJECT PROFILE 1. Project Name: Kisaki Geothermal Project Interstate Mining and Minerals Ltd, 2. Current Development of the Project: 3. Location: 4. Project Objectives: 5. Brief Description of the project: 6. Resource base and or Potential: Initial exploration phase, with limited geophysics and geothermal data indicating good heat sources with geothermal capacity. Kisaki, Kilombero District, Morogoro Region, Eastern Tanzania. To evaluate the potential of generating electricity from geothermal energy. The project seeks to establish the potential of these geothermal occurrences turning them into profitable power generating ventures. preliminary indications based on reconnaissance geophysics and drilling in areas with hot water springs returned geothermal sources with temperatures above 160®C. Geophysical surveys indicated the presence of high temperature bodies related to volcanic intrusions and carbonatites which are all associated with the East African Rift system. Further geophysical and drilling work is required to establish the depth, temperature and hence, the potential for geothermal power generation. Two licences over the geothermal properties granted in 2010 as PL No.6373/2010 covering 11.84 sq.km and PL6373/2010 covering 86.91 sq.km both located at Kisaki, Morogoro region. 7. Mineral Property Rights 8. Infrastructure and Labour force: Accessibility to the project area is by road from Morogoro town, to Matombo District, then Mgeta, Kisaki and uphill to Maji ya Weta. From there is is about 40km SW into the Selous Game Reserve. There is also a possibility of using the TAZARA Railways from Dar to Kisaki, and then by road again to Maji ya Weta and project site. The area is rather in a remote area, which means proper and careful logistics planning. Water is plenty and readily available in the area, though has to be property treated before use. 9. Documentation held: 10. Work planned: 11. Investment Type of Business Partnership: 12. Capital or Technical Support Required: 13. Current Status 14. Promoters: 15. Address: 16. Contact Details: (telephone) Un-skilled labour can easily be obtained from surrounding villages, though skilled labour will have to come from other places. 1. Company registration documents 2. Prospecting licence No.PL 6373/2010 and 6375/2010 3. Preliminary geophysics report and brief geothermal appraisal report. a. Detailed geophysical work leading to drilling and geothermal evaluation. b. Complete a Full Feasibility study if detailed geophysics work and drilling give encouraging geothermal potential results; c. Drilling of production wells and construction of geothermal power plants in phases if project is feasible. a. Joint Venture on terms to be mutually agreed upon. a. Funds to undertake detailed geophysics and drilling to establish geothermal potential, and complete a bankable feasibility estimated at US$10-25m b. Capital investment and Initial working capital for both power plant development estimated at US$250-400m for a 100MW power generator. c. Power transmission to Chalinze estimated US$150-200m for 120-160km from the power station to the sub-station to join with the national grid. NDC, Interstate Mining and Minerals Ltd (TZ) and Reykjavik of Iceland have signed an MOU for development and implementation of the project Henry Nyiti Interstate Mining and Minerals Ltd, PO Box 56, Duluti, Arusha, Tanzania Tel: +255-763-999-777 or 255-715-284-699
