Chartered Management Institute Accreditation Factsheet RAF Advanced Management & Leadership Course Qualifications Summary CMI Level 4 Qualifications in Management and Leadership (QCF) are developed for junior managers and leaders aspiring to become middle managers. Designed to expand upon experience in current roles, the learning behind these qualifications supports improvement in personal management capability by developing skills in decision making, managing team dynamics and delegation (managing people). They portray practical management and leadership skills and competences that are rated in academic terms as being comparable to Certificates of Higher Education. CMI Level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership (QCF) are developed for practising middle managers aspiring to be senior management who want to develop their core management and leadership skills. The qualification focuses on the personal development of individual capabilities and competencies, such as managing resources, and information. Level 5 Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQ) portray practical management and leadership skills and competences that are rated in academic terms as being comparable to Diplomas of Higher Education, Foundation Degrees and HNDs. Overview Successful completion of the AMLC has been accredited by CMI at two different levels of qualifications. The first is the CMI Level 4 Diploma in Management and Leadership (QCF). Some AMLC training satisfies higher level learning outcomes, hence the second qualification offering of a CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership (QCF). The award of these nationally registered QCF qualifications demonstrates comprehensive knowledge, understanding and potential as a manager and leader. You have the option to register for either or both (Options 1 – 3) of the qualifications above and no additional work is required by you. Proof of successful completion of your AMLC training, provided by ACS administration, makes you eligible for this qualification. The CMI has agreed with your training authority to offer you the opportunity to capitalise on your learning by completing an assignment (Option 4) and submitting it to the CMI for external assessment. Unit 5022 – ‘Organizational Corporate Social Responsibility’. Corporate Social Responsibility is about how organizations manage business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. This unit is about understanding the organisational strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility, developing an implementation plan, delivering the plan and evaluating and reporting results. The completion pack provides the assignment and instructions about how to get support. Note: External assignments are not available until registration has taken place (see below) Registration You have an 18-month window of opportunity, from date of course completion, to register for these qualifications. Register using the registration form on the CMI web, which you can download and either fax or post to the CMI (details on the form). Visit www.managers.org.uk/mod and click on CMI qualifications. Then scroll down to, and click on, Royal Air Force. Scroll down the table to the AMLC row and click on Download factsheet and Download registration form . Please complete the registration form in conjunction with this factsheet. Don’t forget to provide the remittance. Acquiring the Completion Pack You will need username and password to download the Completion Pack, provided with complementary studying membership as part of the registration procedure. Once registered, you can re-enter the web site and click on Download completion pack. This will prompt you for your username and password, which will allow you to open and download. You have 9-months to complete the assignment; please contact CMI (see below) if you are experiencing problems meeting this deadline. If no work is submitted, CMI will default the qualification to Option 3 (CMI Level 4 Diploma in Management and Leadership (QCF) at 74 credits and CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership (QCF) at 30 credits). The assessment fee will not be reimbursed. Allow a minimum of 9 weeks from submission of your assignment, assuming a pass, for receipt of certification. Unit 5022 is at Foundation degree level so you should expect that some research will be required. Continuing Professional Development This qualification can be built upon to add further units and so presents excellent opportunity for Continuing Professional Development. As it is registered on the national Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) it is readily recognised by civilian organisations.
