Presentation of MOF
The English name is National Association of Adult Education in Art and Culture
MOF is a national association for adult education within amateur art and voluntary culture. MOF-DK
was established in 1967 by the Danish amateur associations in order to create an apolitical association for adult education (most of the Danish associations for adult education have a relation to the
political parties) exclusively for activities within amateur art and voluntary culture.
MOF-DK has the purposes
• to support and promote initiatives within amateur art and voluntary culture
• to disseminate the knowledge of the possibilities that dealing with art and culture give for personal
Development and social integration
• to maintain the interests of the members towards the authorities
• to influence the legislation within adult education in order to make it fit to amateur art and voluntary culture
MOF-DK offers
• adult education within amateur art and voluntary culture through the local evening schools
• courses as well as other arrangements within amateur art and voluntary culture
MOF-DK cooperates with other organisations for adult education and associations within amateur art
and voluntary culture in order to create the best terms for the participants. MOF-DK takes part in
debates about the role of amateur art and voluntary culture in cultural politics.
