The Great Depression: One Minute Analysis The Great Depression is best understood by viewing it through the lens of the people who lived through it. As Franklin Roosevelt and the U.S. Government attempted to fix the economic crisis, everyday people dealt with unemployment, economic instability, and homelessness. The struggle within Great Depression is reflected in photographs, art, music and other documents of this time period. Task: You will create a One Minute Analysis (O.M.A) of one of these documents from the Depressionera United States. The choice of document will be up to you, but options include: Photographs Visual Art (posters, signs, paintings, cartoons) Music Government Documents (including speeches given by politicians, legislation, etc.) Think of something else? Make me an offer! Your chosen document must have been created during the Great Depression period. Your One Minute Analysis (O.M.A) must be a discussion of your document that includes information about your document in a one-minute multimedia presentation. Format: The format or your O.M.A is for you to determine but options include: Powerpoint or Keynote presentation with voice over narration and visuals Prezi with voice over narration and visuals Short movie with voice over narration (iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, etc.) Audio analysis with voice over narration (may only be used for songs or speeches) Requirements: Your O.M.A should conform to the following requirements: Must include a full analysis of chosen document—should answer Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? Questions and include a discussion that answers the “So What?” question of historical importance.
