Position Description
Are you a Registered Pulmonary Technologist who is passionate about providing care to infants and children?
Would you enjoy working collaboratively with an inter-professional team, dedicated to providing excellence in
paediatric care, education and research? If so, we would like to hear from you!
We are currently seeking a Registered Pulmonary Technologist in our Pulmonary Function Lab.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do









Perform routine and special pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
Obtain the best effort and cooperation from the patient for reliable test results.
Select the best data for reporting according to published standard criteria.
Maintain work area in a safe and tidy condition.
Maintain and update the scheduled calibration on all equipment used in the laboratory.
Assist the Chief Technologist to maintain and/or order Lab Supplies and prepare monthly workload
statistics.
Perform supervisory capacity as requested.
Provide education in pulmonary technology to Fellows, Residents, Medical Students.
Assist/participate in Respiratory research.
Here’s What You’ll Need

B.Sc. in a Biological Science or equivalent.









Registration in good standing with the Canadian Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary
Technologists (C.A.C.P.T.) or registry eligible.
Minimum of one year experience in all aspects of pulmonary function testing.
In depth knowledge of respiratory anatomy and physiology.
Capability of working with children.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Attention to detail and efficient time management.
Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Basic proficiency in computers.
Current BCLS certification.
