Commissioned reports where the individual and/or CPIT has received income are not eligible. Grants are paid on evidence of actual publication – this is usually a copy of the publication. Grants are only paid to current employees of CPIT. Grants are paid per publication. Joint authors from within CPIT will share the grant as determined by themselves. Grants are limited to $500 for publication in conference proceedings if CPIT funding was used to attend the conference. Where other funding is used to attend the conference, the level of payment will be determined by the criteria below. Grants are to be used for CPIT research purposes only. As a rule, the individual earning the grant has the first right to the grant. The Faculty/School research committee is accountable for the grant being spent appropriately. Note that usually a Publication Incentive Grant cannot be used to “buy out” teaching time, ie provide staff release from teaching.
