research. It is a multidisciplinary centre bringing together scientists
and engineers to address both fundamental and applied questions
relating to the advancement and development of plasma related
research for the benefit of both industry and society locally and
internationally.
The National Centre for Sensor Research is a world renowned,
large-scale, multidisciplinary research facility focused on the science
and applications of chemical sensors and biosensors. NCSR is
focused on developing future sensing technologies for economic and
societal benefit for application in personal health monitoring and
diagnostics, environmental monitoring, (bio) process optimization
and nano/bio-medicine
The NICB is a multidisciplinary centre of research in fundamental
and applied Cellular Biotechnology, Molecular Cell Biology and
Biological Chemistry. It includes a multidisciplinary team of Cell and
Molecular Biologists, Biotechnologists. Chemists and Computer
scientists.
The Research Institute for Networks and Communications
Engineering (RINCE) is a national centre for excellence in
Information and Communications Technology (ICT). RINCE
researchers are affiliated with the School of Electronic Engineering
and the School of Computing. The institute currently has 20

The Biomedical Diagnostics Institute (BDI) is a multidisciplinary
research institute focused on the development of next generation
biomedical diagnostic devices. These devices, which will directly
affect the quality of people’s lives worldwide over the coming
decades, will be used in Point of Care applications as well as for
self-test, home use.
The Centre for Next Generation Localisation (CNGL) is funded by
Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) in the category "Centre for
Science Engineering and Technology (CSET)". CNGL conducts
research in machine translation, speech processing, and digital
content management.
Clarity is a cross-disciplinary research centre focused on integrating
research on adaptive sensor networks, content extraction, adaptive
utilization and adaptive middleware.
