Dear Platform Tennis Chairmen & Captains,
Short Hills Club
Welcome to the Fall 2010 Season of The New Jersey Men’s Platform Association. If you are NOT the person to whom this letter should be directed, please pass it along to the new Chairman and call me immediately at one of the numbers listed below.
You are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the NJMPTA at the Short Hills Club which will begin promptly on Wednesday , September 1, 2010 at 6:30.
Feel free to join us at 6:00 pm for a cold beverage prior to the meeting. Please bring along members of your Club who are interested in participating in this meeting. Please respect Short Hill’s dress code (ie: no jeans, sneakers or hats. Shirts must have collars).
At the meeting, please provide the names of each of your club's captains and alternates. The captains will be responsible for updating their own address, phone number(s) & e-mail address on the website.
Also enclosed is The Payment Entry Form for the Fall 2010 Season.
Return the listing and your payment fee to me no later than September 9, 2010 or bring them with you to the Annual Meeting. Please note that the fee for the NJMPTA Fall 2010 Season is $175 per team. If I do not receive your club’s application and e-mail data by September 9th, you will not be included in this year’s schedule.
NJMPTA League matches begin on Saturday, October 2, 2010 and conclude on December 4, 2010
(There are no matches scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend) . The Annual NJMPTA League Classic
Tournament will be held on December 11-12, 2010 .
The A League will be continuing with Monday Night play this year. Default starting time will be
7:00 p.m. Saturday pre-plays encouraged if players have Monday conflicts, and we have extended the dead line for completion to the following Friday from Wednesday.
Finally, we have poled the B league captains and 80% are in favor of moving this to to a Tuesday night league. We will vote on this at the meeting so if you feel strongly one way or the other please send a representative to be heard or fell free to call me or any other board member. As always we encourage Saturday pre plays for those who have scheduling (or sight) issues .

To ensure a prompt response so that our division schedules can be developed on time, we must impose a penalty for late payments. After September 9, 2010 , the fee will be increased to $225 per team (NO
EXCEPTIONS).
