Whereas, We are here today to express special recognition to Wint Marler and to honor him for his distinguished forty-plus year career with Union Pacific Railroad; and Whereas, Wint began his career with MoPac Truck Line in Longview, Texas, in 1968; and Whereas, Wint moved to Houston, Texas, when MoPac Truck Line merged with Union Pacific Motor Freight in 1984; and Whereas, Wint moved to Mesquite in 1997 to work as the Senior Manager Intermodal Terminals Union Pacific Railroad; and Whereas, on behalf of the entire City Council, I want to express my sincere appreciation to Wint for his dedication to Union Pacific Railroad and wish him much happiness as he begins this exciting new chapter in his life. Now, Therefore, I, John Monaco, Mayor of the City of Mesquite, do hereby proclaim Friday, October 30, 2009, as: “WINT MARLER DAY” in the City of Mesquite, and urge all citizens and Union Pacific employees to join me in congratulating Wint on an outstanding career with Union Pacific Railroad, and extend to Wint, Dianne and his family our best wishes of happiness and good health in the future.
