Presentation and Adoption of Annual Report, Accounts and Balance
Sheet
Honorary Treasurer Robert Errington presented the report and final
statements reflecting in financial terms the results of activities. He informed
guests that the annual report contains only brief extract as the full report
extends to 18 pages which is available from Michael Dennehey, Finance
Manager.
He reported as follows:
 There was a loss of £16,500 at the end of the year. This loss is less
than predicted and has been absorbed by reserves. The Trustees have
formulated a policy in respect of unrestricted reserves which are
detailed in the full report. It reflects a difficult but not bad year and we
will continue to keep our head above water.
 The cost of premises for continues to be the biggest single commitment
(bar staffing); if rent levels had been lowered we wouldn’t have had a
deficiency; negotiations on this are taking place at this time.
 Whilst there is no immediate cause for concern we must continually to
seek further funding.
 6 months into the current financial year, operations are to budget, the
next 6 months and beyond will be very challenging in these economic
times.
 He works alongside the finance department to prepare very detailed
budgets and will continue to refine these budgets to ensure tight
financial control.
 He commended staff for their hard work and commitment in this area.
He particularly acknowledged the hard work of CEO and supporting
staff and to Michael Dennehey for keeping a tight control on finance
issues in spite of extra burdens and pressures over the year.
Diane Williams proposed the adoption of the annual accounts and balance
sheet.
The proposal was seconded by Gerry Kirby.
Resolved: Adoption of annual accounts and balance sheet.
Geoff Salmon proposed the re-appointment of Price Mann and Co. as
