FORTH SECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION POST: Delivery Assistant/Reserve Van Driver (21 hours p/wk – Supported Employment) RESPONSIBLE TO: SUPERVISER PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist the Delivery Driver by providing a high quality service to Laundry customers. To provide driving cover during holidays and busy times. To provide occasional production assistance in the Laundry. KEY TASK AREAS □ Delivery and collection assistance □ Driver cover □ Production assistance □ Organisational responsibilities KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Excellent customer service Safe working practices Achieve established standards for quality and procedures Engagement with goals of supported employment and Work Choice Delivery and Collection Assistance Revised August 2014 1 of 5 Safely load and unload laundry bags into the van and to designated customer drop off and pick up points Undertake deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements Assist with maintaining a clean van and following procedures for end of shift cleaning Ensure appearance and uniform meet agreed standards Assist the driver to note deliveries and pick ups Driver Cover When required, provide cover for van drivers on established routes Complete driver sheets in line with procedure Ensure the van and cab are kept clean to agreed standards Liaise effectively with office staff and supervisors to ensure customer deliveries and collections are undertaken to agreed standards Production Assistance On occasion, assist in the production area of the Laundry Follow procedures to ensure a high quality laundry service Assist with the routine cleaning of the laundry Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with Forth Sector’s clients who are undertaking work-placements at the laundry General Responsibilities To assist in ensuring that the business premises and clients comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Engage with the requirements of the Work Choice programme Organisational Responsibilities Contribute to the provision of a supportive working environment Contribute to the overall achievement of Forth Sector’s mission and objectives Revised August 2014 2 of 5 Undertake such training and personal development as may be required to provide an effective service and to ensure compliance with the law or contractual requirements, and, where appropriate, share training expertise with colleagues Attend and participate in team meetings Actively participate with own supervision and appraisal.
