Personnel Appointment
Timothy King- School Resource Officer – Police Department
WHEREAS, a full-time School Resource Officer – Police Department position will
became available due to promotion on January 3, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Patrol Officer Timothy King had applied for and is qualified to fill said
position; and
WHEREAS, Officer King is currently working and training with School Resource
Officer Mike Voorhees in the school; and
WHEREAS, the Bernards Township Police Chief, Township Administrator, and
Director of Human Resources recommend appointment of Timothy King to the position
of full time School Resource Officer- Police Department;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the
Township of Bernards, that Officer Timothy King be appointed full time School
Resource Officer – Police Department, effective January 3, 2006.

Explanatory Statement:
With the promotion of two detectives to rank of sergeant, there will be two
internal appointments to the rank of detective. These are not contractual based
promotions, rather stipend based ranks.
The two individuals involved are Peggy Corsentino (patrol to detective) and Mike
Voorhees (school resource officer/detective to detective.) As a result of these
movements, Tim King will be the new school resource officer (from patrol division.) He
is currently working with Detective Michael Voorhees in the schools.
