In addition depending on the circumstances the Standard PPE and one or more of the following must/may be worn: Eye protection (safety glasses), UV safety glasses , full face mask ,leather gloves, thermal suits. The lab has an auto (IR detector) hand wash sink to be used when leaving the lab. Electrical : All Protein electrical equipment (240V 3 pin and Double insulated 10 amp ) has been or is the process of being recently PAT (nov 2012). All other electrical equipment (3 phase and has been visually inspected. Any suspect electrical equipment should be turned off at the switch labeled as “faulty –Do Not Use‘” and reported to Gary Keenan. Emergency equipment installed: Full safety shower Oxygen depletion alarm Man down portable alarm Natural gas emergency shut off valve All staff and students working in the lab should know where these installations and equipment are and how they work. 5.List step by step instructions or order for undertaking the task General Procedure for all laboratory tasks. Lab coats should be left in the lab or taken away in a closed plastic bag. When leaving the lab wash hands in Auto sink with antiseptic detergent in the hands free.
