ISUE Professional Background ADMINISTRATIVE BACKGROUND CURRICULUM Created a comprehensive Course Description to distribute to students and to their parents. This provided an excellent instrument for school-community relations. Participated in assessments and studies which led to recommendations for advanced placement courses in English, calculus, American history and government, and physics. Involved with technological studies for the new Hoover High School. Chaired three North Central Evaluations for Hoover High School. Provided staff development and inservice programs for staff members. Assisted with procedures and scheduling of the ninth and twelfth grade proficiency tests and assisted in initiating intervention programs. Created academic assist classes to tutor or to provide enrichment opportunities for students. Chaired or served on district level committees such as Certificated Policy, Drug/Alcohol, and Multicultural Development Program. Developed 5-year plans for textbook and curricular review and assisted in writing and editing courses of study. Developed a master schedule of classes for each school year. STAFF EVALUATION AND DEVELOPMENT Coordinated the evaluation process for 95 teachers and 45 classified personnel. Developed and implemented an inservice program for new staff members at Hoover High School. Met at least once a month with department chairmen and administrators to discuss and to evaluate academic programs and any school-related concerns. Evaluated teachers, department chairmen, classified personnel, and administrators to reinforce strengths and to make constructive suggestions for improvements. Served as president of the North Canton Administrators’ Association and was negotiator for the administrators to the superintendent and North Canton Board of Education. Member of the Unified High School Committee that studied, evaluated, and recommended proposals for the new high school. Served on the North Canton Bond Issue Committee. Was responsible for establishing and supervising the high school budget. COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL RELATIONS Assisted interested parents in creating an Academic Booster Club to recognize students for their academic achievements and citizenship. Created an eighth to ninth grade orientation program for students and their parents. Attended academic and extracurricular activities throughout the school year. Assisted with the Senior Honors Banquet and the Senior Citizens’ Prom. Established a Parents’ Night for parents who had children enrolled in Hoover High School.
