School Tours Overview.
Education and learning are at the core of Millstreet Country Park’s mission statement
and have a major role to play in promoting the environment, culture, heritage and
creativity to students of all ages. All programs are lead by trained staff and an
Ecologist and have a strong focus on the interpretation of local and natural history,
conservation and ecology. Millstreet Country Park is a most popular destination for
school tours.
Millstreet Country Park is one of the leading educational, cultural and eco-tourism
destinations in the South making it the perfect location for educating children on
geology, nature and history. A unique attraction in the South, Millstreet Country Park
offers your pupils the opportunity to see many endangered and native species of
wildlife, plants and trees found in the in diverse habitats alongside herds of red deer.
In addition to learning interesting nature facts, Ireland’s facinating history and seeing
one of the largest red deer farms in the South, your pupils will also have the
opportunity to be children and interact through play while getting some fresh air
outdoors on this beautiful 500 acre estate.

scope of the curriculum and across many subject areas, there is an abundance of
activities to keep your pupils entertained throughout your visit.

Booking Information.
All courses and activities are based in Millstreet Country Park’s Educational Centre,
the Robert Lloyd Praeger Laboratory,. Advanced booking is essential and we are
pleased to hold provisional bookings for 10 days. Bookings must be confirmed by
contacting our staff members and sending the appropriate deposit. Call 029 70810 or
email info@millstreetcountrypark.com for details Due to demand book early to avoid
disappointment on your preferred date.
Lunch.
The average stay in the Park is 4-5 hours and this includes time for lunch. Hot and
cold food (and packed picnic lunches) is available from our Cafe & Restaurant. Just
book this when booking your school tour for a small added cost. There are numerous
picnic areas to enjoy a packed lunch outdoors – if the weather permits! (If not there
are indoor facilities available)
Additional Information.
All School Tours commence at 10am. If you require an earlier or later time allocation
please contact reception on 029 70810 or school tour co-ordinator in advance. (It is
recommended that you arrive10minutes prior to tour commencement time.)
Location.
Millstreet Country Park is located outside Millstreet Town in North Cork. We are less
than one hour from Cork City, and only 40minutes from either Mallow or Killarney.
