Resolution Authorizing Student Government Association Involvement in Homecoming
WHEREAS, The Student Government Association is the official student governing body for Illinois State
University;
WHEREAS, Promoting school involvement is a pillar for the 2014-2015 Student Government Association;
WHEREAS, SGA will participate in the following homecoming activities: Redbird Rumble, Homecoming Parade,
Homecoming Kickoff, Redbird Rendezvous, Homecoming Window Decorating, and Homecoming Chalk the Quad;
WHEREAS, Homecoming Window Decorating will be Sunday September 28,2014 from 1pm-5pm, Homecoming
Chalk the Quad will be Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 3pm-6pm,Homecoming Kickoff will be Monday
September 29, 2014 from 6-8pm located on the quad, Redbird Rumble will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 79pm located at Hancock Stadium, Redbird Rendezvous will be Friday October 3, 2014 from 6:30-9pm,
Homecoming Parade will be Saturday October 4, 2014 from 9:30-11:30am;
WHEREAS, Redbird Rumble and the Homecoming parade will be mandatory for all members unless otherwise
approved by Secretary Gallagher;
WHEREAS, Membership and Outreach committee will be required to attend Homecoming Kickoff, Policy and
Procedure committee will be required to attend Redbird Rendezvous, Finance and Allocation committee will be
required to attend Chalk the Quad, and Civic Engagement committee will be required to attend Window Decorating;
WHEREAS, Committee chairman will be in charge of attendance at their required event;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That every member must put in at least 6 hours of constituent contact the week
of homecoming;
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That office hours be suspended this week and all hours be dedicated
to Homecoming events and Assembly Meetings.
