Further details.
1. Elizabeth, known as Bella, died 14th May, 1893 at Carmo, Larkhall Rise, Clapham, England.
2. Mary died 13th June, 1895 at The Carmo (presumably in England too)
3. Anne married Robert Bayman of Madeira, on 25th May, 1857, at Plumstead, Kent She died 21st Feb. 1895. He died 13th Aug., 1881.
They had 2 sons: Arthur born 1854, and Ernest born & died 1856.
4. Frances (Fanny) born 21st Aug., 1826. Married John Evans, K.C.B., (born 17th Nov., 1823) her first cousin, on 23rd July, 1859. She died 22nd Sept., 1890.
He died 31st May, 1908. They had no issue.
5. Harriet was married on 25th Nov 1854, at The Carmo, Madeira, to Rev John Lake Crompton (15th Nov 1815 to 3rd Aug 1889) They came to Pinetown,
Natal, South Africa and had 10 children, the youngest of whom was my maternal grandfather. Harriet died 19th Feb 1925
6. Joseph Francis married 2nd Sept 1862 at St. Johns, Newfoundland, to Fanny Harriot Robinson (born 11th Dec 1841) daughter of Sir Bryan Robinson of
Newfoundland. They lived at Rivermead, Iffley, Oxford and had 9 children including Francis ("Frank") who became archbishop of Cape Town. Joseph died
31st Aug 1922.
7. Clara married 21st Jan 1860 at St. James, Piccadilly, to the very Rev. John Oakley D.D. (26 Oct 1834 to 10th June 1896) They had 7 children. Clara died 7th
Nov 1897
8.Charles born 20th Feb 1833 in Madeira died 26th Feb 1908. Married first Agnes Neale (by whom he had one daughter) then Katherine Wilkinson.
9. William born 23rd Jan 1836 (after Elizabeth's recovery - see the "Bramblebury letter") died 24th Dec 1911. Married Catherine Glasse - one stillborn dtr.
10. Arthur born 24th Oct 1837 died 4th Oct 1920. He became a Lieut. General and Governor of Aden.
Married on 19th Feb 1868 to his second cousin, Caroline Ann Peyton (17th Jan 1833 to 9th June 1904)
They had 4 children and their eldest son was my paternal grandfather. (My parents are second cousins)
11. Jane de Brissac Fredrica born 19th Aug 1842 died 6th Nov 1926. She didn't marry and was a very colourful character who lived in England and ran what
was known in the family as "Aunt Janey's Orphanage".
