ROBERT P. VECCHIO Robert P. Vecchio is the Franklin D. Schurz Professor of Management at the University of Notre Dame. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at ChampaignUrbana in industrial-organizational psychology. Since joining Notre Dame in 1976, Professor Vecchio has taught and conducted research on issues in organizational behavior and human resources management, with special emphasis on leadership, motivation, and workplace emotion. He has served on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Review, the Academy of Management Learning & Education Journal, the Journal of Management, Leadership Quarterly, the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal, and other journals. From 1995 to 2000, he served as Editor of the Journal of Management. He has published numerous articles in such journals as the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Leadership Quarterly. He is also the author of Organizational Behavior, published by Thomson Learning, and Leadership: Understanding the Dynamics of Power and Influence in Organizations, published by Notre Dame Press. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the American Psychological Society.
