The Do’s of eLearning Take responsibility for your own learning and performance Keep your user name and password confidential, only between you & your instructor Attend class regularly and on time Follow the rules & regulations regarding the use of LPS computer equipment. o Such as, No food/drink in the computer lab. Adhere to & follow the policies and procedures as explained by your eLearning instructor. o Such as, Internet use is limited to course-related material. Students should not be using class time and resources to web surf, play games, Facebook, e-mail, IM, Music, Craigslist, etc. Violation of these guidelines may result in you losing your enrollment in the eLearning environment. o Student are expected to not use cell phones during class time (by school policy). You may use your IPOD or MP3 players but you may not use the computer to listen to music. This is a privilege if I hear your music or it becomes a distraction that right may be taken away. Should you require headphones to view/listen to course-related videos or materials, please see your instructor. Use class time effectively Complete all required coursework and activities in order Keep complete & accurate records of your work, including complete notes and study guides. Don’t’ forget the activities, videos, and links to reading material Use the Reports feature to check due dates and keep yourself on the correct pace to finish your course by the end of the semester. The Do’s of eLearning, Continues….. Study/review materials BEFORE attempting to take quizzes and tests. Treat it as you would any other class when you know you are going to have a quiz or test. Ask for help if you need it! Work outside of class time in order to complete your course by the end of the semester. You may work from home or elsewhere; however, you may not complete any unit tests outside of class. Requirements/Progressing Through Courses It is a both a requirement and an expectation that you move through your course work IN SEQUENCE. o This includes all assigned activities, not just quizzes. Meet at least minimum grade requirements to receive credit in the course o You must achieve at least a 70% on tests & quizzes to move forward in the course o You only have one attempt at tests & quizzes before you are locked out! If you take any quiz or test and do not pass it, please notify your instructor to get assistance. Unit tests will be locked. When you are ready for a unit test, you will need to notify your eLearning instructor to gain access to tests. Being “ready” for a unit test means that you have: o 1) Completed all activities, including study guides and notes, prior to the unit test; o 2) Studied unit material/reviewed your notes & materials prior to attempting the test; o 3) Confidence you can pass the test in one try.
