Endangered/Invasive Species Poster Project
Purpose: To create a wanted or unwanted poster depicting an endangered or invasive species.
The poster should be on unlined paper or posterboard and be NO LARGER than 12” x 12”. You may mount the
paper on another sheet, but the entire size may not exceed 12” x 12”. Posters will be presented on the due
date which is __________________________.
Your name should be on the BACK!!!
Wanted Poster for Endangered Species Requirements:
1)
A picture of the organism (You may print or draw a picture, but DO NOT draw the picture unless you
can accurately represent your organism). If you print the picture the source of the picture must be
listed on the back of your poster. (5 points)
2)
The common name of the organism must be listed above the picture. (1 point)
3)
The genus and species of the organism must be listed below the picture. (1 point)
4)
A brief physical description of the organism must be included including information about its
requirements (such as what it eats, type of soil it prefers, etc.) 7 points
5)
The country(s)/region(s) where this organism is found must be listed and the type of
habitat/ecosystem it is found in. (5 points)
6)
How many members of this species remain? (2 points)
7)
List the reasons this species has become endangered (be detailed and put into your own words).
Species are generally not endangered for a single reason. (10 points)
8)
How is this species being protected/what can be done to protect it? (6 points)
9) Bibliography with full citations on the BACK of the poster. Minimum of two sources for information.
