Bioinformatics Training Coordinator
PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to coordinate a training program for the Human Heredity and
Health in Africa (H3Africa) Consortium. The majority of the training currently taking place in the
consortium is in Bioinformatics through the H3ABioNet network coordinated from the
Computational Biology (CBIO) group at UCT. The training coordinator will work closely with the
H3ABioNet and H3Africa Coordinating Centre staff in the CBIO group, as well as the H3ABioNet
and H3Africa Education and Training working groups to develop a consortium-wide training
program, and manage training documents, forms, websites and course logistics. The H3Africa
consortium includes 21 projects with PIs from around Africa and training courses will take place
in multiple African countries. The person will also track trainees and follow-up on their progress.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
BSc Hons degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Education or related subject,
Masters is preferable.
Experience in training, evidence of coordination/organizational skills, preferably
knowledge of bioinformatics and/or genomics.
2 years experience in bioinformatics or genomics and/or training coordination
