Program Goals
1. Students will learn to analyze and
synthesize short texts at the literal
(propositional) level.
Level 3
Speaking Goals
Students will analyze short, spoken
texts for accuracy.
Students will synthesize information
from sources into short, original
spoken texts on personal/concrete
topics.
2. Students will learn to create short
written and spoken texts to express
their own ideas and to represent the
ideas of others.
Students will produce short, original
spoken texts on a number of personal
and concrete topics such as the
description of people, preferences,
places, and regularly occurring
activities.
Students will summarize texts (written
or spoken) that describe, narrate,
explain, and present opinions.

 Identify and correct limited
grammatical, vocabulary, and
pronunciation errors in recorded
spoken samples
