Subject: Participating in Questionnaire for Killarney Vale / Long Jetty Overland

Flood Study

Wyong Shire Council is preparing an overland flood study for the Killarney Vale and Long Jetty catchments. This study will update Council’s existing flood information and will help to better plan, predict and manage the risk of overland flooding across both catchments. The enclosed brochure provides further information about the flood study and why it is being prepared. As outlined in the brochure, Wyong Shire Council has engaged Catchment Simulation Solutions, an independent consultant specialising in flood studies, to prepare the study.

The catchments include the suburbs of Killarney Vale and Long Jetty as well as sections of Bateau

Bay, Shelley Beach and The Entrance.

Your property is located within the study area, however this does not necessarily mean your property is impacted by flooding. Nevertheless, if you have experienced flooding, Council would appreciate your participation in this study by responding to the enclosed questionnaire. The community's responses to the questionnaire will help to identify flooding issues and to calibrate flood models against historical flood information.

The survey will only take a short time to complete. Reply-paid artwork is printed on the questionnaire so you can return your response free of charge. Alternatively, you can complete the questionnaire online: http://KillarneyValeLongJetty.floodstudy.com.au/

If you have any questions regarding this study, feel free to contact Council or Catchment

Simulation Solutions. Contact details can be found on the questionnaire and brochure.

Yours faithfully
