CentraLine Partner Congress in Barcelona:
Exchange of Ideas, Awards, and Prospects
SCHÖNAICH, June 2014 - An anniversary celebration, new products, successful mutual
projects, and the exchanging of ideas were all at the forefront of this year's CentraLine Partner
Congress, which took place from 22nd to 24th May in Barcelona. More than 200 participants
from 36 countries came together for intensive technical discussions about the partner brand for
integrated building automation. Alongside the festivities for the tenth birthday of CentraLine, the
focus was on the latest solutions from Product Development, Distribution, Support and
Marketing.
Richard Church, General Manager of Honeywell Commercial Controls, opened the
event, taking a retrospective of the last decade: "During the last ten years, CentraLine has
developed from a purely HVAC brand into a major player in integrated building management.
We are proud of this, but have no intention of resting on our laurels – rather, we will intensify
our efforts on developing products and solutions for integrated building automation."
The entire congress was centered around the subject of "integrated building automation,"
and dealt with all aspects of intelligent building management – from HVAC applications, water
management and lighting and shadow control to the integration of burglar alarm systems, fire
prevention, and the integration of legacy installations.
In various workshops, discussions took place on the newest developments in integration
solutions in buildings (AX), Energy Management Solutions, BACnet, Modbus and M-Bus based
applications, intelligent field devices, as well as future projects. In line with this, CentraLine
experts demonstrated how cost efficiency and energy efficiency in buildings could be
significantly improved with the advancements in CentraLine products. This is especially true for
existing facilities, for which low-investment measures can achieve large savings, and therefore
make a considerable contribution towards reducing CO2 emissions.
It was also fascinating to hear what the CentraLine Partners had to say, drawing on their
practical experience: The reports once again demonstrated that the need for refurbishment
remains considerable, both in commercial and public buildings. Interesting projects from
Switzerland, Turkey, and the Middle East were presented. In addition, in the form of "Voice of
the Partners," an interactive discussion was carried out for the first time, and the partners
provided a valuable input into product developments and market orientation.
Besides technical discussions, informal exchanges played an important role at the Partner
Congress. The diverse program offered ample opportunity for this, with a map quest in
Barcelona and a gala dinner above the city rooftops. At these celebratory events, a total of
twelve awards were also presented: six for Technical of Excellence and six for Business
Excellence. Richard Church and Michael Rader, the CentraLine Business Leader, presented the
awards to the winners. "The Partner Congress is a wonderful opportunity for us to put into
practice the CentraLine philosophy 'close to you', with regard to our clients," explained Rader. "I
think I speak for both parties – the CentraLine employees and Partners – when I say that this
year's meeting has again been a great success, and provides fantastic proof that the Partner
network is working very well."
