With a background in French and German, I specialize in texts translated from those
languages – primarily in the areas of business, finance, engineering, information technology,
and marketing. I edit to AE (Chicago, AP) or BE (Cambridge or Oxford) rules.
Background & Skills
I went to French lycée and have a Ph.D. in German. I have 15 years of experience as an
editor and publisher, primarily for the IT industry (training and technical manuals, user
guides). A former English teacher, I am a stickler for grammatical correctness. I have a
strong feel for the language, a meticulous approach, an eye for detail, and a light but firm
editing pen. Aside from French and German, I speak and read Italian and have some Dutch,
Spanish, and Latin.

I am a US native resident in the UK. I have lived much of my life outside the USA, primarily in
