Last Will and Testament of Allexander Harrison
(Father of Welthy Ann Harrison Dix, Wife of Isaac Dix IV)
In the name of God Amen I Allexander Harrison of Accomack County in the Colony of Virginia
being weak of body but of perfect mind & memory do make & admin this my Last will and Testament first
and principally I bequeath my soul to God who saved me & my body to the earth to be decently interned by
my executors hereinafter mentioned and as to my worldly estate I do give and bequeath it as followeth --- In
primis I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Phillips one shilling. Secondly I give unto my daughter
Wealthyanna Dix one shilling. Thirdly I give to my grandson Alexander Harrison one featherbed & also I
give him my yearling colt. Fourthly I give unto my daughter Sarah Harrison one square scissor leaf table
and also one rug that she has in her possession and I also give my daughter Sarah Harrison my loom with the
appendages belonging to it. I also give my daughter Sarah one cow & calf it being a red & white pzd cow.
Fifthly I give to my son Alexander Harrison one large pewter dish. Sixthly I give to my son John Harrison
one large chest that stands in the kitchen and also one large pewter dish that I lent him. Seventhly I give to
my daughter Sarah Harrison one acre of land lying across the road to the southwest of it it being a ridge to
her and her heirs forever. Eigthly I give to my son John Harrison the bed I lyd on. Ninthly I give to my son
Phillip Harrison one bed that is in the kitchen. Tenthly I give to my son Alexander Harrison one unmarked
cow with her first calf. Eleventhly I give to my daughter Ann Harrison one black pzd cow & her calf.
Twelfthly I give to my granddaughter Euphamy Harrison five pewter plates. Thirteenthly I give my old
mare to my son Alexander Harrison. Fourteenthly I give to my son Phillip Harrison one branded heifer.
Fifteenthly I give to my son Alexander Harrison five hogs likewise my hoes and axes and also my cyder
cashs. Sixteenthly I give the residue of my personal estate to be equally divided between Alexander
Harrison, John Harrison & Phillip Harrison. My desire is that my estate shall not be appraised. Lastly I
appoint my son Alexander Harrison executor to this my Last Will & Testament revoking by those presents
all others by me made heretofore and do declare this & no other. Witness my hand & seal this thirteenth day
of May anno Dom 1760. Alex ‘X’ Harrison signed sealed & declared as his Last Will and Testament.

In a court conducted & held for Accomack County May 28th 1760 the within Last Will & Testament
of Alex Harrison that was heard by the paths of the witnesses thereto and admitted to record John Harrison
the heir at law to said Alex Harrison and being present and having nothing to object and on the motion of
Alex Harrison taking the oath and giving Isaac Smith & Geo Cutler for his security who entered into &
administrator bond for the Surveyors Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof on one form.
