Postdoctoral Fellow – Medicinal or Organic Chemistry Biosciences Division Job # 114BR Menlo Park, CA We are seeking an enthusiastic scientist to work in our Center for Chemical Biology. Candidates are expected to bring contemporary chemical approaches necessary to participate in research programs relating to the design, discovery, or mechanism of action of biological active substances. The successful candidate will design, synthesize, purify, and characterize molecules for evaluation in ongoing research programs. The position will participate in our team-based organization consisting of multiple disciplines (primarily chemistry, biochemistry, and biology). Excellent communication skills are thus desirable. Other duties may include small compound library synthesis, solid-phase synthesis, new research development, and client interaction. Requirements: Experience: The successful candidate is expected to be an independent self-starter with experience and knowledge of contemporary synthetic organic chemistry. Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills are a must. The person should be motivated to contribute intellectually in a dynamic team environment. Education: Ph.D. in medicinal and/or synthetic organic chemistry with 0-2 years experience. A post-offer, pre-laboratory physical examination will be required.
