CRLA-ITTPC Application Stages and Fees Effective 2012 (*New Multiple Campus and/or Multiple Program Certification Fees are now in place) APPLICATION STAGES - Which application form to use: (Mail completed application packet on a CD, DVD, or Flash Drive. Paper appl. are no longer accepted) 1st Stage: New Program / New Level (N), or Re-Join (RJ) (valid for a 1 yr period) = used for a program: never before ITTPC certified, or, currently certified for a lower level(s), but now seeking to add higher level(s) (valid for 1 yr) to their existing lower level(s) certification, or, that was ITTPC certified at some time in the past, but expired, or, lapsed, and wants to rejoin. 2nd Stage: Reflection and Renewal (RR) (valid for a 3 yr period) = used for a program: currently certified for one yr, seeking to extend their certification for the next step = 3 years. This short review form is the ONLY appl. that may also be submitted online via: ittpc@crla.net. 3rd Stage: Re-certification (RC) (valid for 5 yr periods) = used for a program: currently certified for 3 or 5 yrs, seeking to extend their certification for the next step = 5 years. This 3rd stage appl. form is used every five years thereafter to re-apply for certification. *NEW: An Administration/Supervision Designation for all ITTPC certified programs. Designation Options defined: A. Primary-Program Unit only [One Program on One Campus], listed under one certificate, where that one program is directly responsible for all of these tutor training program functions: a) Tutor Selection; b) Tutor Training Topics; c) Tutor Experience Tracking; d) Tutor Evaluations, and, e) Tutor Certification. The ‘Primary-Program Unit Fee’ per level requested in this application applies. B. Primary-Program Unit plus Additional-Units [for Multiple Campuses &/or Multiple Programs], listed under one certificate, where each of two or more campuses &/or programs coordinate their resources and offerings to all provide the same CRLA-ITTPC approved minimum core policies & processes for any of these tutor training program functions: a) Tutor Selection; b) Tutor Training Topics; c) Tutor Experience Tracking; d) Tutor Evaluations, and, e) Tutor Certification. The ‘Primary-Program Unit Fee’ per level requested in this application applies, plus an added $50 per level charge for each added campus &/or program on this appl. [See: “Application Fees”.] Each certified program &/or campus name listed on the appl. will be included on their Program Certificate. Most tutor training programs operate via a single program, operating on a single campus. However, many institutions have tutor training programs that operate on multiple campuses, and/or, with multiple tutor training programs on the same campus. They seek to consolidate services to provide a single point of contact for their tutor training, under one certification, for those multiple campuses and/or multiple programs. (Primary-Program Unit fees + Additional-Unit Fees apply = see ‘Application Fees’ information section below.) PROS of the ‘Addition-Unit’ option: It can be a plus for your institution if: your program includes other campuses &/or programs that work together on the tutoring program; you want to offer multiple training options; and/or, you share tutors. It can save money as opposed to each center paying a separate certification fee. CONS of the ‘Addition-Unit’ option: It can result in a loss of autonomy in tutor training topics and content; and/or, it can be more challenging to include all the information needed for all campuses/programs at each stage of certification. Each application packet must: 1) list the name of each program &/or campus that participates in their tutor training functions listed above. 2) list at least one contact person who is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the tutor training requirements for each program &/or campus for that specific tutor training program applying. 3) send in the “Primary-Program Unit” application fee per level they requested, plus (starting in 2012) applications with a “additional-unit” designation must ALSO pay a $50 per level added fee for each added program or campus included in their certification request. Once the application is reviewed, and approved, each certified program and/or campus listed on the approved application will be listed on their (.pdf) Program Certificate we email to their ‘primary contact’. We also email a link to a “Tutor Certificate Template” for each of their certified levels. Your program may choose to list only the institution, the program, and the campus certifying a tutor on the tutor certificates they issue.
