Project Issues
Banner Lab – What software to install on the new machines? – Julie needs to know
what software needs installed on the new Banner lab machines. Bob suggested
multiple browsers, Brio, and Oracle. Hummingbird is no longer needed per Patrick.
Global settings are needed for Cognos and ODBC connections. Nancy will contact the
CAPP team regarding any programs they may need. New install will include IE 8 and
Windows 7.
Financial Aid – FISAP Status – Karen reported install is complete on TRNG and
ready to go. Self service financial aid will need to be down when moved to PROD.
Needs moved to PROD early August.
Cognos 8.4 and ODS 8.2 Upgrades - Schedule – Cognos 8.4 to PPRD Sep 6th, Tier
one servers for PROD Sept 26, Tier 2 servers for PPRD Oct10th. Julie questioned tier
two going to PROD same weekend as Banner upgrade.
Banner Student Upgrade 8.4 – Begin September 1, 2010 on PPRD Refresh [This
includes the Application Server upgrade to Oracle.] – Banner upgrade to go to
PROD weekend of October 8 and 9th.
Windows 7 – Update on ODBC connection and BRIO – Kim contacted Jacob and
will meet with him in a week or so for directions on installing Oracle 11g and Brio for
client on Windows 7.
Banner Lab – August 16th through August 27th – Julie reported the lab will be used
for the IPFW Call Center August 16th through 27th. All scheduled meetings are being
cancelled or moved by Julie.
Financial Aid Upgrade to 8.7.4 and 8.7.5 and AR Upgrade to 8.1.1 & 8.1.1.1 – Josh
and Pam reported upgrade went well in PROD.
Web App Mod – Bob reported changes going well. Bob will be out starting Thursday.
Bob requested it be moved to PROD before he leaves.
Next Meeting – Mark asked we not meet in two weeks unless there is an emergency
situation that needs addressed.
End of First Week Processing – Julie reported some changes need made for housing
cohort the end of first week. Julie will work with Patrick on the population selection.
Workflow Status – Julie reported her and Terry are working on assignments and what
has to be moved to get Workflow going. Next IIC meeting will hopefully help set the
dates for the multi campus project.
Oracle Databases – Jim reported some of the old databases need moved from the
SANS. Various servers will require down time for move. ODS PROD and PPRD will

probably be first to be moved. Banner DEVL and PPRD will be next. Plan for Friday,
August 13 for afternoon ODS downtime.
