CAL STATE EAST BAY HOMECOMING COURT RULES AND REGULATIONS HOMECOMING 2010– “Pioneer Pride!” A. Candidate selection for the CSUEB Homecoming Court will be from campus clubs, organizations, or candidates-atlarge. B. Each club/organization may sponsor ONE club member for Homecoming Queen OR King. C. An eligible candidate must: a. b. c. d. e. f. Hold a valid CSUEB student ID card Have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (Student Life Programs will verify all GPAs) Academic Ambassador applicants must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA Be a CSUEB student in good standing with sophomore, junior or senior classification Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units at time of entry NOT be a member of the Homecoming Committee D. Queen Candidate-at-Large: Students with a valid CSUEB student ID card who are not affiliated with an organization may run for Homecoming Queen after having a petition signed by 12 currently enrolled students. This candidate must comply with all the requirements listed above. E. King Candidate-at-Large: Students with a valid CSUEB student ID card who are not affiliated with an organization may run for Homecoming King after having a petition signed by 12 currently enrolled students. This candidate must comply with all the requirements listed above. F. There cannot to be more than one candidate and one alternate nomination from each club or organization. G. Each nominee must complete the Nomination/Application Form and submit it with a resume to the Student Life Programs Office (UU 2011) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010 H. The Homecoming Court consists of up to 8 students who represent the CSUEB Homecoming tradition (King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Duke, Duchess, Academic Ambassador, and Freshman Ambassador). All final candidates are required to wear red and black attire all week, attend the UU Fashion Show on Thursday, February 25 at the Union Square at 12:00 p.m., participate in the Parade, and attend all Homecoming events and competitions (games). Again, candidates should be dressed to display their CSUEB pride all week. The Homecoming Court will be introduced at the Fashion Show and all competitions and students will have an opportunity to learn more about you with a brief Q&A session at the Fashion Show. Further detail will be mentioned at the Mandatory Meeting. I. The Homecoming Court will be selected by the Homecoming Court Subcommittee, which is comprised of CSUEB faculty, staff, and student representatives. Winners will be judged and selected based on their application, demonstration of academic leadership and CSUEB pride, and participation in Homecoming Week events. J. The Homecoming Court will be formally presented on Wednesday, at the women’s basketball game (5:30 p.m.), and again on Friday at the men’s basketball game (7:30 p.m.). Winners of the Homecoming King and Queen title will be announced during halftime at the men’s basketball game. If the winner is not present at the announcement during the game, then the runner up will be awarded the title by default. K. The Alternate will be advanced to candidacy in the event the Queen/King candidate is ineligible or unable to run. L. All candidates are official Homecoming 2010 Ambassadors for the promotion of school spirit. They are required to attend all Homecoming 2010 events. In the case that they are unable to make an event, they must give advance notice to the Homecoming Court Subcommittee.
