Found Alphabet Photography For this assignment you will search for the letters of the alphabet on the EWA Campus. When you are finished, you should have 26 photos, one for each letter from A to Z. There should not be duplicate letters or missing letters or you will lose points. You cannot use the same photo for multiple letters (for example H and I are form by similar shapes as well as N and Z or M and W.) **Remember this is “Found Alphabet” so you cannot set items up to be in the shape of a Letter. If the image looks intentionally staged you will lose points. If it is close, and could potentially be found in the shape naturally that is acceptable. As you collect your images you will use photoscape to crop, edit, and label images before placing them in your final presentations. -Make sure you crop them enough to make the letter clear, but not so much that the objects that form the shape are unidentifiable. -Editing should not be extreme. You should only edit to adjust the brightness, contrast, sharpness and backlighting. Any extreme editing may affect the ability to see the letter. We aren’t going for crazy effects on this because it will distract from the subject matter. -Labeling will involve placing an example of the typed letter in the photo to clarify what the photo is of. i.e. “A” After editing, you will need to import the final images into the moviemaker program and use it to create your final slide show. -You will need to include music so be sure you make the necessary arrangements to have what you need before the project is due either with a burned CD, flash drive, drop box, or downloadable version. -Make sure you include transitions in the slide show. Don’t just plug in random ones. Have some repetition, use ones that compliment or mimic the letters and work well with your music. -Do not use the slide affects. If you do, they will take away from the subject of the images. They have their purpose but not for this project. -You must have a title slide and ending slide. This means you will have 28 slides total. Your title slide should contain: A title Your name The year Your ending slide should have credits that include: The end Thank you for watching Created by then your name The full date completed Credit for the music (specifically the title of the song and artist) Once you have completed your slide show, you will create a poster with your found letters. You may use photoscape to edit your photos however you like for the poster or you may use a different online program like photoshop.com or picnik.com (both are free fairly user friendly online programs that have features that photoscape does not such as “pop color”.) You will need to complete both your slide show and your poster by the end of the week. If you do not complete the work in class you will need to make arrangements to complete the assignment over the weekend. If I do not have it in my in my possession before 1st period the following Monday (or Tuesday if we are out of school on Monday) it will be counted late and you will lose points.
