AAPS Research Achievement Awards
Guidance, Procedures & Requirements
AAPS will be presenting Achievement Awards in the fields of Biotechnology (BIOTEC), Clinical
Pharmacology and Translational Research (CPTR); Manufacturing Science and Engineering (MSE);
during the 2015 Annual Meeting and Exposition. These awards are intended to recognize outstanding
scientists who have demonstrated significant impact in their respective fields.
The Achievement Awards in Drug Discovery and Development Interface (DDDI); Formulation Design
and Development (FDD); Physical Pharmacy and Biopharmaceutics (PPB) and Pharmacokinetics,
Pharmacodynamics, Drug Metabolism (PPDM) will be presented 2016.
Nomination Requirements
1. The primary nominations can be made by any AAPS member using the nomination form
provided.
2. At least two supporting letters that speak specifically and exclusively to the significant accomplishments
of the nominee justifying why the nominee is deserving of this recognition. An additional (third) letter of
support from a scientist (having no direct reporting relationship) at the home institution could be
submitted if needed.
3. One page of nominee’s biographical information.
4. A complete curriculum vitae
5. Reprints or photocopies of up to three individual articles that support the quality and originality of the
research clearly identifying the concept(s) developed.
6. A complete bibliography of publications with up to 10 key publications identified by asterisks with a
brief explanation of why he/she considers these as key. In case of multiple authors, the nominee’s
specific contribution to the publication should be briefly discussed.
7. A summary of the nominee's major accomplishments highlighting their impact on the field stated in such
a way that a person from another discipline can appreciate the significance and uniqueness of the
nominee's contribution. (This may not exceed two single-spaced, typed 8 1/2" x 11" pages.)
8. All nominations and supporting materials should be submitted as a single pdf file to awards@aaps.org.
A single Microsoft Word file will be accepted if pdf capability is unavailable. The award name must be
shown in the subject line of the email. FAXED OR MAILED NOMINATIONS WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED.
Selection Procedures
1. Upon initial receipt of nomination forms, the AAPS Office will verify if they are compliant with the
requirements. Validated nominations will be forwarded to the appropriate Section Awards
Committee Chairs with a Cc: to the AAPS Awards Committee Chair.
2. The Section Awards Committees will review the nomination dossiers and forward the names of the
selected nominees to the AAPS Awards Coordinator (Me’Gesha Portlock) in the Awards Committee
and the AAPS Awards Committee Chair.
3. The AAPS Awards Coordinator will forward the names of the recommended nominees to the AAPS
Executive Council for final approval.
