Female Show/Breed Contract
REGISTRATION: This dog is a purebred PORTUGUESE WATER DOG and must be registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). The Registered Name shall be given by the BREEDER Lorna Coloccia. Lorna Coloccia shall be noted as the co-owner with the puppy. After the terms of this contract are complete the ownership of the puppy sale be transferred in total to the purchaser.
This very special puppy is a result of a planned breeding program designed to produce "the best example of the Breed". As such these show puppies will be exhibited and shown in conformation starting as early as 6 months. It has been the experience of this kennel that PUPPIES will obtain their championship @ 2
1/2years of age with top professional handlers. This puppy has been selected from the litter to be one of the best examples of PWD Breed characteristics. At the time of delivery the BITE is determined to be correct (it can go off and even return to normal) An Off Bite is not allowed to be SHOWN in CONFORMATION and out be evaluated over time and if the bites does not correct - this puppy would be spayed or neutered. It is recommended that a preliminary HIP xray
(without anesthesia) be performed prior to initiation of championship showing schedule.
LIFETIME RETURN REQUIREMENT:
We have a lifetime commitment to every single dog we breed. As such, if ant any time you cannot take care of this puppy or do not wish to keep him/her, you must return the puppy to Lorna Coloccia with valid AKC registration certification signed over to is and all medical records. If you have a problem with the puppy - CALL
US - We can assist you in a variety of means to solve any problem! This puppy cannot be sold to anyone. The puppy cannot be housed with anyone other than the purchasers. If the puppy is found to be in the possession of anyone other than the purchasers - the BREEDER may reclaim the puppy and remove the puppy from the 3rd party without legal recourse.
The purchaser has the option of examination by a licensed DVM within 148 hours of the PUPPY being delivered. The purchaser can return the puppy within 72 hours of the delivery for full refund. The breeder will except the puppy back without condition and pay for shipment or arrange transportation. Should the purchaser desire to return the puppy after the 148 hours – the breeder must be notified and be allowed 72 hours to make arrangements. The dogs can only be returned to Mrs. Coloccia for a return fee of $350,00 to be paid to the purchaser after the dog has been medically cleared by a DVM.
BUYER"S OBLIGATION AND AGREEMENTS:

1. Buyer agrees to provide BREEDER with annual response to questionnaire sends out by BREEDER.; 2. Buyer agrees complete the following medical evaluations
2. OFA HIPS (2 yrs) - (NO anesthesia) DO NOT SEND TO OFA without consultation with BREEDER; b. CERF Annual starting at age 2; c. Storage
GM-1 DNA Test, Optigen (Genetic Test for PRA)
3. Proper coat and Grooming Care
4. Proper exercise and nutrition
5. Register the Puppy (once AKC papers have come from Lorna Coloccia)
Female SHOWABLE/BREEDABLE - The Breeder/co-owner shall be provided 1
BREEDER FIRST PICK puppy from each litter(s) or lease of the bitch for 1 litter.
The purchaser shall be responsible for all costs of raising the litter - The purchaser shall consult and obtain approval of all potential breedings PRIOR to signing any BREEDING CONTRACTS with any other breeder/bitch owner.
Should an accidental breeding take, the purchaser shall forfit the animal and transfer ownership to Mrs, Coloccia. An unplanned breeding is a very serious problem – The owner may not lease this BITCH at anytime to another breeder without the approval of BREEDER. (This bitch cannot be bred more than 3 times in her life). OWNER must agree to lease BITCH to BREEDER should they elect
NOT to have a litter themselves. This puppy shall be included under umbrella of the AVIATOR KENNEL and be held to the terms and conditions of the PWDCA
BREEDERS REGISTRY. A copy of the terms and conditions will be mailed with the registration. The puppy MUST NOT BE SPAYED under any conditions without the approval of the breeder. This includes pyrometria in BITCHES and
Prostate problems in MALES. All health issues must be communicated to the
BREEDERS. The Breeders have decades of experience in dogs and are well connected to experts in the fields of Veterinary medicine.
The purchaser must send all copies of health certifications to the HEALTH
REGISTRY and update the information as needed for the life of the dog to Mrs.
Coloccia for reporting to the PWDCA Health Registry. The PWDCA HEALTH
REGISTRY is key in improving the health of the Portuguese Water Dog. Health
Registry forms shall be mailed with the puppy registration.
This puppy must complete initial immunization shots as identified in the puppy shot record and must have a rabies shot (but in conjunction with no other shots/immunizations). We request that the RABIES shot be delayed as long as possible to allow the puppy to adjust and gain immune system strength (ideally 5-
7 months of age). AFTER initial immunizations you are to NEVER IMMUNIZE the dog again without consultation with Mrs. Coloccia - you may opt to get TITERS (a blood test to identify the level of immunization protection) if necessary. Over immunization is the primary cause of many illnesses including cancer.
You pup should always be fed a quality dog food and be supplemented with products like MISSING LINK, Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Please consult with any of the breeders if you need advice or have questions.

RESALE: No resale or disposal of this puppy is possible without the prior approval of Lorna Coloccia – This puppy can only be returned to Mrs. Coloccia.
REPOSESSION: If the puppy is inadequately maintained for its health (SHOTS,
FOOD, HOUSING, GROOMING, EXERCISE) or is allowed to run at large or is ever is found in a public shelter - the dog with its registration papers is subject to repossession by the breeder with no refund of monies to the purchaser.
