Your gift to today’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious provides vital support for the retirement needs of senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. It also helps ensure that younger members can continue the good works of their elders! REJOICE Be filled with joy. Pray constantly. Give God thanks because the Lord expects us to give thanks and praise in Christ Jesus. Jesus comes with good news to free us and to clothe us with salvation. With the bridal cloak to shield us, the church helps us witness to the bright divine light of the Lord in our lives. Each event in our life is part of the coming of the Lord; John the Baptizer announces Jesus’ arrival. Will we receive him – with his cross – joyfully? NEEDED: Cooks to prepare casseroles AND food donations to feed the volunteers working during the Portsmouth Outreach program. **Food donations for breakfast, lunch and dinner are all needed. **General paper good supplies are also needed. **Check out the sign-up sheets posted on the board outside of Herrmann Hall for specific details. Like us on Facebook: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Pickerington Ohio 1 THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT Pastor’s Reflection This Monday, Dec. 15th at 7:00 p.m. we are having our Advent Penance Service at St. Pius X Church. We all probably have a long list of preparations that need to be completed between now and Christmas. As you review this list, how much includes your own spiritual preparation? There is no better way to prepare for Christmas than to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. As we rid our lives of sin, we are making room for Christ to dwell in our lives. This is the heart of Christmas, and why it is so appropriate to receive this sacrament at this time of the year. There will be many visiting confessors to accommodate everyone who attends. Take advantage of the graces that will be afforded to you this night. Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests have spent their lives ministering to others often for little. Their sacrifices now leave their religious communities without adequate savings for retirement and health care. Your gift to the collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious supports the day-to-day care of roughly 35,000 senior religious, providing necessities such as prescription medications and nursing care. Please give to those who have given a lifetime. We thank God this day for those who have not only taught us our ABCs, but also to love God! Show your gratitude by giving generously to this collection. Our Renovation Committee is completing its work with our architects on the Design Development phase of our renovation project for our church. We are prepared to now have a parish meeting to share the results of this work. We will do this on Sunday, Jan. 25th immediately after the 11:15 Mass in Herrmann Hall.
