WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY SUNSHINE COAST ACCOMMODATION
CALOUNDRA REGION:

Belaire Place, 34 Minchinton Street, Bulcock Beach (5491 8688) – One bedroom
apartment on the first floor, (we have lift access to all floors), and has a view over the
pool and onto Minchinton St. There is a double sofa bed in the lounge area so it can
accommodate up to four people comfortably. It has a king sized bed in the bedroom,
(which can be split into two single beds if required). Wider doorway to the apartment.
Wider car park space in our secure underground car park. Large bathroom which can
accommodate a wheelchair and has grab rails around the toilet and in the shower
area. No-lip shower with removable showerhead. Shower/toilet chair can be provided.
Ramp access onto a large balcony.

Norfolks On Moffat, 32 Queen of Colonies Parade, Moffat Beach (5492 6666) – We
have a three bedroom apartment on the ground floor which has a wheelchair
accessible shower and toilet. We also have what we call disabled friendly units, one
on the 2nd level, one on the 3rd and one on the 4th level. These are all two bedroom
one bathroom units with handrails in the shower and toilet, but the toilets are not
wheelchair accessible. Note: Also the Moffat Beach Newsagency has a special
wheelchair, which can be used on the beach, free of charge for use.

La Promenade, 4 Tay Avenue, Bulcock Beach (5499 7133) – The Two Bedroom
Apartment has wheelchair ramp onto waterfront balcony, wide entry door, hand rails
in toilet and shower and has wheel-in shower. There is a lift from basement to all
floors, direct access to café, as well as a disabled/handicap toilet on the ground floor.

Monaco Caloundra, 12 Otranto Avenue, Caloundra (5490 5490) - We currently
don’t have any disabled units in our holiday letting pool, however we have had people
stay in wheelchairs before. The doorways in the apartments are wide enough to fit
around each corner and the showers are also walk in showers so there is no need to
step over any baths or lips. Also throughout the whole complex there is no stairs
(except for fire stairs of course) and there is even wheelchair access into the
swimming pool. Strictly ramps and lifts.

Rydges Oasis Resort, Cnr North Street & Landsborough Parade, Golden Beach
(5491 0333) – We have 7 hotel disabled rooms which are fully set up for disabled
people. We have 2 disabled rooms in our sunset wing which have 1 queen bed, tea
and coffee facilities and the bathroom with the walk in shower. We then have 5
disabled rooms in the boomerang wing which have 1 queen bed and 1 single bed,
these rooms also have tea and coffee facilities and a bathroom with the walk in
shower. These rooms are specially designed for disabled access having the light
switches lower, room for wheel chairs and also a chair for the shower is
available. The walk in shower doesn't have any lip over the shower as it is just a walk
in bathroom.

Windward Passage, 35 Landsborough Parage, Golden Beach (5492 3666) – Two
apartments specifically designed for the disabled on the fifth floor. They have hoists,
electric beds, etc. and pool access for those that want to swim. The apartments
accommodate up to 7 people in each.

Mint Shearwater Resort, The Esplanade, Kings Beach (5491 5355) – 2 bedroom
apartment (1 bathroom), no steps into the apartment (lift access), toilet with hand-rail,
and wheel-in shower with hand rail. Wheel chair accessible public toilet on ground
floor.

Caloundra Central Apartments, Corner Browning Boulevard & Nicklin Way, Dicky
Beach (5490 2400) – 2 and/or 3 bedroom apartment built specifically for wheel chair
access, with lower benches, shower and toilet with rails, automatic door controls, lift
access in building and disabled parking.

Riviere on Golden Beach, 72 Esplanade Golden Beach (5492 3200) – access and
facilities for disabled persons in most apartments.

Portobello By the Sea, Beerburrum St Dicky Beach (5491 9038) - Just letting you
know about two of our apartments that are set up for deaf people and for the
disabled:

The Entrance, 13 Westaway Parade. Currimundi – 3 bedroom apartment on 8th
floor with views of the ocean and lake. The ensuite is setup for disabled.

Crown Plaza Pelican Waters, 38 Mahogany Drive, Pelican Waters (5437 4666) - 6
wheelchair access rooms, they are all located within easy reach of our 3 guest
elevators, each room has ‘wheel in’ showers, support bars for toilet, ramps for
personal balconies and the furniture is all placed sensitively for complete wheelchair
maneuverability.

Ocean Views Resort, Cnr Bulcock Street & Centaur Street (5491 1788). OVR has 2
x 1 bdrm wheel chair friendly units. These units are purpose built wheel chair units
with no lips etc and larger door ways.

Breakfree Grand Pacific Resort, 100 Bulcock St Caloundra (5436 4444) - We have
a fantastic disabled unit available for rent in BreakFree Grand Pacific that has great
equipment for carers/families with disabled persons. It has a hospital bed with a
specialled mattress for people who are susceptible to bed sores etc, a hoist, reclining
shower chair, rails, wide doorways, ramps to access balconies, IV stand, and a
bedside table that has a food stand that comes out…all equipment has been bought
in especially to cater for disabled needs as the owner herself is a carer and needs
these facilities. The unit is a 3 bedroom rooftop apartment with ocean views. The
unit is fully self contained, double carpark but the clearance on the carpark entry is
2.1M so high vehicles will not fit. Min 3 night stay.
MAROOCHYDORE, ALEXANDRA HEADLAND & BUDERIM:

Sunshine Towers Holiday Apartments – 33 Sixth Ave Maroochydore (54431722)
We have wheel chair access ramp into building, lift to all levels, disability parking

Silver Sea On Sixth Resort, 106 Sixth Ave, Maroochydore (5451 1200) - We have a
lovely 3 bedroom ground floor apartment at Silver Sea Resort. This one is specifically
dedicated to Disabled and wheel chair guests. It has wide corridors, shower rails,
hand held shower rose. Large opening one level shower.

Space Holiday Apartments – 41 The Esplanade Maroochydore (5430 0000) - We
have wheel chair access from the street, elevators to each level. The apartments are
very spacious with very open areas, including the balconies and bedrooms. The
showers are open (no doors) also. We have a few repeat guests in wheelchairs now.
They love being able to just come down and cross the road to the park.

Maroochy River Coach House – 46 David Low Way Bli Bli (5448 4344) – 1 room
with extra large shower, shower chair, hand held shower, rails – wheelchair
accessible. 2 single beds, bar fridge, tea / coffee making facilities, reverse cycle air
con. Entrance to building has stairs and ramp. There is also a couple more ramps
around the building. Common toilets also have a disabled toilet in them.

The Arabella Guest House on Buderim – 297 Mooloolaba Rd, Buderim (5478
1339) – wheelchair accessible

Wunpalm Motel & Holiday Cabins – 137 Duporth Ave, Maroochydore (5443 4677) –
1 x self contained cabin which has wheelchair access and is suitable for a disabled
guest. Sleeps up to 5.

Eloura Tower – 81 Sixth Ave, Maroochydore (5443 5988) – we have one 2 bedroom
unit that is wheelchair friendly.
MOOLOOLABA

Nautilus Resort Mooloolaba – 30 – 32 River Esplanade Mooloolaba (5444
3877) - we have two apartments that are wheelchair friendly. We do not call
them disabled rooms as someone in a wheelchair would require assistance for
certain things such as reaching the dryer & microwave so as such could not stay
alone, but they have no steps, a walk in shower with seat and all bars required in
the bathroom. They are two bedroom apartments with one queen and one single
bed.

Pacific Beach Resort – 95 The Esplanade, Mooloolaba (5444 4733) – a couple
of apartments suitable for the disabled – ring for details.

Cilento Holiday Resort – 19 First Ave, Mooloolaba (5457 9100) – wheel chair
friendly unit on level 2. Large wheel – in shower with a shower curtain and rails in
the bathroom. Ramps onto the patio.

Mantra Mooloolaba – Cnr Esplanade and Venning St, Mooloolaba (5452 2600) Mantra Mooloolaba has 4 x 1 bedroom rooms that have wheelchair accessibility.
They are complete with lower benches rails in bathroom and shower seats. They
have a split King bed and sofa bed.
COOLUM BEACH:

Coolum at the Beach Resort – Cnr Margaret St & David Low Way, Coolum
Beach (5412 2050) – 3 fully disabled compliant apartments – 1 x 2 bedroom
and 2 x 1 bedroom.

Seacove Coolum – 1890 David Low Way, Coolum Beach (5455 7900) – One
disabled access ground floor studio room. Queen bed, motel style room.

Coolum Seaside Apartments – 23 Beach Rd, Coolum Beach (5455 7200 – We
have two disabled compliant apartments available in our complex. One is a one
bedroom ground floor which has a king size bed, bathroom which has a
shower that is accessible by wheelchair. It also has the grab rails beside the
toilet. The large north facing courtyard has wheelchair access ramps. We can
supply a shower stool if needed. The other apartment is a studio which can be
booked with the 2 bedroom spa apartment beside as a dual key apartment. It
also has a king bed (the king beds can be separated into 2 singles if required - a
$30 one off charge for this). This is also a ground floor apartment and has a
courtyard. There is lift access from the secure car park under the buildings.

The Beach Retreat – 1750 David Low Way, Coolum Beach (5471 7700) - Here
at The Beach Retreat we have 1 wheelchair friendly 2 bedroom apartment. It
originally was set up as full disabled unit but has now been refurbished with just
the wheelchair friendly access - no longer has the seat and extra features in the
bathroom. This apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living
area with a standard view. For any enquiries for this apartment you will need to
call us at the resort.

The Point Coolum – 1 Bay Terrace, Coolum Beach (5448 9888) – 4 x Coral Sea
villas which are all one level, wheel chair accessible, shower with no steps, ocean
views with large balcony. Although these are not fitted out as “disabled rooms”
they do get used quite often by returning guests with disabilities.

Braeside B&B, 305 Maleny-Stanley River Road, Maleny (5494 3542) – Purpose built
wheel chair accessible Queen Room – with rails, seat in shower, access to lounge
and deck area with views to Glass House Mountains.

Curramore Country Cabins / Maleny Cabins , 383 Curramore Road, Curramore
Maleny (5435 8300) –The Calm Cabin/Cottage is a purpose built Wheelchair
accessible accommodation. The shower room is a wet room with no lips to cross to
enter the shower.(we also have a shower chair available upon request free of charge)
The Shower & Spa bath have an anti scald device fitted to reduce the risk of scalds.
The shower room' s basin is bench mounted so as the wheelchair can go under to get
the person closer to the basin. Both the Toilet & Shower have the appropriate wall
mounted handles. The toilet pan is of the disabled category (slightly higher than
regular) There are no steps or door tracks to cross over into the cabin or out onto the
deck with double french doors.The Light switches & electrical sockets have oversize
on/off switches to assist people that lack dexterity & are set approx. 1m from the floor
,to make it easy to operate. The rear Bedroom has 2 fully adjustable electrically
operated beds, to assist with mobility problems. The main open plan area has a King
sized bed that can be split into 2 singles so you have the potential of 4 single beds .
The refrigerator is raised approx. 200mm off the floor to make the fridge more
accessible from a chair. The Kitchen baseline unit goes right to the floor so with the
doors open you can roll forward for easier cupboard access from a chair. The
entrances are of the regulatory size for wheelchair accessibility. We also have a back
up generator if the power supply is paramount to a client.

Lyndon Lodge B & B – 3 Benecke Rd, Maleny (5494 3307) – We have
limited disabled access and facilities. We have a ramp to enter the house but the
doorways are normal size doors. As well in the bathrooms we have no rails. Several
disabled guests with limited moving capacity or using walking frames stayed with us,
we usually provide our guests if required a plastic chair in the shower then.

Ewen Maddock Dam Environmental & Recreation Camp, Glass House Mtns Rd,
Landsborough (5494 8666) - Day use area & accommodation available. 3 dorms
have accessible toilets & showers. Paths link to dam and wooden boardwalk through
natural bushland.

Lilyponds Holiday Park, 26 Warruga St, Mapleton (5445 7238) - One 2 bedroom
holiday cabin has disabled facilities. It has a ramp access, fully disabled bathroom
and the master bedroom has wheelchair access.
Maleny Country Cottages, Cork's Pocket Road, Maleny (5494 2744) - All cottages 1
& 2 brms cater for the wheelchair access and their carers. The 2brm sleeps up to 6
people with queen-size & single beds. Specifically wide doors & showers & a level
ramp leading from undercover parking area. Slow combustion fire, gas BBQ etc.


Ocean Views Tourist Park, Landsborough/Maleny Road, Mt Mellum (5494 1171) Purpose-built wheelchair accessible family cabin with ensuite. Queen bed, double
bunks and fold down futon. Ramp for easy access and a large bathroom with a hand
held shower and support rails.

Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge – 198 Barrs Rd, Glasshouse Mountains (5493
0008) - We have one wheelchair accessible bathroom with wheel-in shower. low light
switches, grab rails for the toilet, low basin etc. The family forest rooms are
wheelchair accessible but their ensuites are too small so wheelchair guests use this
bathroom which is spacious. Guests can wheel onto the kitchen verandah to the
outdoor dining area but the kitchen itself is not accessible. WE have had a
wheelchair guest stay in the bunk room too and he was quite happy there using the
accessible bathroom. Guests can wheel from the car park along concrete paths to the
rooms.

Glasshouse Mountains Holiday Village, 778 Steve Irwin Way, Glass House
Mountains (5496 9338) - one Disabled Cabin and a Disabled Amenities Block.

Blue Summit Cottages, 547 Maleny Kenilworth Rd, Maleny (5435 8410) - Cockatiel
Cottage has wheelchair access

CrookNeck Retreat, 2194 Old Gympie Rd, Glass House Mountains (5438 7578) –
we have one cabin that has wheelchair access.

The Spotted Chook Ferme Auberge – 176 – 186 Western Ave, Montville (5442
9242) - The Spotted Chook has a beautiful French cottage with wheel chair friendly
council rating. There is also a separate car park and ramped walkway 1:14 to guest
lounge, dining and reception areas.

Montville Mountain Lodge – 282 Western Ave, Montville (5442 9222) – wheelchair
friendly with access and amenities to suit.
NOOSA AND OTHER AREAS:

Lake Weyba Cottages – 79 Clarendon Rd, Peregian Beach (5448 2285) - 2
bedroom cottage that is wheelchair accessible and wheelchair friendly.

Anchor Motel Noosa, 223 Weyba Rd, Noosaville (5449 8055) – One disability room,
wheelchair access, large bathroom, no shower hob, grab rails in shower and beside
toilet, shower chair available.

Lagoon Pocket B & B – 57 Lagoon Pocket Rd, Lagoon Pocket (nr Gympie) ph (5483
2112) – one full disabled access room

Eumarella Shores Noosa Lake Retreat – 251 Eumarella Rd, Lake Weyba via
Noosaville (5449 1738) - 2 lakehouses that have wheel chair access. Deluxe
Lakehouse - 2 bedroom fully self contained. Bedding configuration - brm 1 queen,
brm 2 king or 2 singles it also has a double sofabed in the lounge. One bathroom plus
powder room. This can be booked as a 1 or 2 bedroom. Luxury Lake Pavilion - 3
bedroom fully self contained. Bedding configuration - brm 1 king, brm 2&3 kings or 2
single in each. Two bathroom plus 2 powder rooms. This can be booked as 1, 2 or 3
bedroom.

Amamoor Lodge – 368 Kandanga – Amamoor Rd, Amamoor (5484 3500) - We
have a B&B suite purpose built for disabled access. The Grevillea suite is large
enough for a wheelchair and has plenty of room for a lift to be placed on the Queen
bed. There is also a single bed in the room for a carer. The bathroom is large enough
for a wheelchair and has a wheelchair toilet, tempered water and other disabled
facilities.
