Three Stars and a Wish
We are always very grateful to parents who bring along clothes and uniform that are
no longer needed. At the moment, we need spare girls pants, swimming costumes
and trunks, and any school uniform that is now too small for your children. Please
bring them to the office if you have anything to donate.
Special stars over these last two weeks have been the children who have written
stories about the resilient rat. It is great that they have come up with their own ideas
and written them in their own time to share with the rest of the school. Congratulations to
Esther S, Kaelyn C,Otis J,Ruby S, Lloyd H,Honey-Mai E, Holly H,Chelsey L, Frank J-K, Alana B
and Rose G
Many thanks to all those of you who have wished me a speedy recovery. The
children have been so kind and quick to help with opening doors, picking things up
and generally asking after me. Hopefully, I’ll be back on my feet soon but until then, I am
always on the end of the phone or in my room so do pop in if you want to see me.
If your child is chosen as the Pupil of the Week and you get a text message to
invite you in, please can you contact the school office and let them know. We
are spending precious money following these messages up when we don’t
hear. Also, please tell the office and not the class teacher as sometimes the
messages are overheard or seen when they are delivered!
RACER and this week’s challenge
RACER stands for resilient,
adventurous, curious,
empathetic and reflective.
This next fortnight’s focus is
‘being adventurous’. It might be
trying new foods, challenging
yourself on a new sport, being
brave and paying for something
in the shop, trying a new game.
This fortnight, we’re asking
children to keep a note of things
that were a challenge – when they maybe felt a little nervous or unsure but they
overcame those feelings and ‘had a go’! We’ll share the challenges in assemblies and
encourage everyone to be brave!

Top Marks in Dance Exams for Dreams
Pupils from D.r.e.a.m.s School of Dancing and Performing Arts, run by principal Dianne
Turner, gained top marks in their dance exams taken recently with the International Dance
Teacher’s Association with an examiner from London.
Pre-Juvenile Ballet Award was taken by Sophie Payton who received top marks of Highly
Commended. She also gained her Rosette Award in Theatre Craft joined by Peggy Bishop
and Rose Gee. Primary Ballet was taken by Peggy Bishop, Kaelyn Cross, Rose Gee and
Sizhu Chen and all receiving top marks of Honours and Distinction.
Ruby Sowden, Sizhu Chen, Sophie Sefton, Abigail Pentland and Kaelyn Cross all gained
Highly Commended for their Musical Theatre Exam with Singing, Dance and Drama.
Bronze Medals for Musical Theatre were awarded to Abigail Pentland, Ruby Sowden and
Sophie Sefton. They recited a poem of their choice and performed a song and dance solo
from a Musical.
Dance Principal Dianne Turner said the results were outstanding and she was very proud of
her pupils who all worked so hard, they really deserved the great marks they received.

and Wednesdays for all ages. If you are interested to join a class, then please contact
Dianne on 01984 633599.
