To support and assist the Pharmacist in the day to day running of the Dispensary,
offering the highest level of professionalism and customer service.

Customer Service
 Deal with customers politely and efficiently
 Establish customer needs and wants and actively sell appropriate products
 Deal effectively with all customer complaints and refer to the Pharmacy Manager where
necessary
 To promote and maintain a positive organisational image and strong working relationships with
people across the organisation
 Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, exceeding
expectations
 To deal with telephone enquiries, fax enquiries and email enquiries in an accurate and
customer friendly manner, referring non routine queries to your Manager and directing calls to
the relevant Employee/Department where necessary
Dispensary Management
(in accordance with the
Pharmacist’s direction)
 Ensure the dispensary is clean and orderly to maximise efficiency
 Ensure out of date stock is minimised by stock rotation and regularly check product expiry
dates
 Ensure accurate stock levels by regular (monthly) stock take of dispensary stock according to
Pharmacy schedule
 Ensure stock is received and put away accurately, paying particular attention to fridge lines,
controlled drugs, quantities, strengths and expiry dates
 Ensure all temperature sensitive products that are received into the Pharmacy are dealt with
immediately in accordance to Cold Chain Standards as per Company procedures
 Ensure all controlled drugs that are received into the Pharmacy are left unopened and handed
directly to a Pharmacist
 Ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained by processing orders, receiving invoices, and
following up shortages
 Ensure any Dispensary special orders are followed up and communicated as per Jadin Chemist
Group Pty Ltd procedures
 Responsible for ensuring credits are processed and followed within appropriate timeframes
 Ensure all paperwork and administration related to the PBS Claim is completed accurately and
regularly in accordance with the Pharmacy schedule and Jadin Chemist Group Pty Ltd
procedures. This will include but is not limited to sorting of scripts on a daily basis, finalising
and sending the PBS Safety Net claim, processing PBS Home Medicines Review claim,
reconciling all of the above claims and the filing of non-claimable prescriptions, duplicate
prescriptions and Jadin Forms
 Fully responsible for ensuring the dispensary refrigerator temperature is recorded on a daily
basis
 To check and action emails on a daily basis
 Assist the Pharmacist in the day to day running of the dispensary operation

Dispensing of Prescriptions
 Accurately process all customer data as per Jadin Form into electronic database with no
omissions or errors
 Accurately dispense items, under the supervision of the Pharmacist, in line with Company
procedures and protocols
 Ensure necessary Dispensary Tags are utilised when required
 Ensure all ancillary labels are used when assembling scripts as required but in accordance with
the Pharmacist’s direction
 To have a full understanding of Generic/Brand substitution and apply this when dealing with
customers
 Ensure substitution of generic medications, when requested by the customer
 Demonstrate an understanding of customer’s entitlements under the Pharmaceutical Benefits
Scheme including general, concession, repat and safety net entitlements. Relay this
information to customers as requested
General Duties
 Alert the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist in Charge to any unusual or suspicious occurrences in
the Pharmacy
 Where appropriate provide assistance with the tills, IT systems and over the counter sales
 Accept prescriptions from customers and fill out the Jadin Form as per Company procedures
 Hand dispensed and non-dispensed medicines to customers as per Company procedures
 Filing and administration related to the role
 To be responsible for own health and safety and the health and safety of others
 To be aware of the nature and sensitivity of information handled within the Company and work
in a manner which ensures confidentiality and security of this information
 To support the development of Company Policies and Procedures when required
 To cover aspects of a Pharmacy Assistants role when other Employees are absent from work
due to holidays or sickness
 Responsible for partaking in any other task or activity not listed that is required within the
scope of the role e.g. cleaning duties, etc
Communication
 Develop and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with all Employees within the
Jadin Chemist Group Pty Ltd
 Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the Pharmacist, Pharmacist in Charge
and Pharmacy Manager
 To attend meetings relevant to the role such as monthly staff meetings and ensure that any
actions from that meeting associated with the role are appropriately implemented

Experience and Qualifications
 Ability to prioritise and manage workloads and meet deadlines
 Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, across a wide range of audiences with a
particular emphasis on detail, accuracy
 Excellent interpersonal communication skills that inspire teamwork and approachable customer
service to all customers
 Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities in a pressurised, fast pace environment
 Work effectively both as a team member and individually
 Full confidentiality
 Ability to work at a fast pace with a low error rate
 Successful completion of Certificate III qualification in Community Pharmacy
 Previous experience working in a Dispensary
 Previous experience working in a retail environment
