SWIM MEET
MEET PARTICIPANTS: MOUNTAIN HOME (HOST), JONESBORO,
PARAGOULD, POCAHONTAS, BLYTHEVILLE
DEADLINE: All entries are due with each swimmer’s name, AAU number and
date of birth, and sex, no later than 12:00 noon Wednesday June 13, 2012. Please
use hy-tek whenever possible via email to: hopenormandy@hotmail.com or fax to 870425-6957. Please send SCM times. Please indicate name(s) of your coach(es) who
will be attending and number of coaches for your team.
This is a preseeded meet with times. Use last year’s AAU times is great or even
coaches best guess. Bullpen will be used for all events. All events will be timed
finals. Deck entries accepted for open lanes only – no new heat will be added.
Facility: Cooper Park pool located on 1101 Spring Street, south of Cardinal. The
facility is a 25-meter pool with 8 lanes, competitive lane lines, starting blocks. The
baby pool and diving well will NOT be open during the meet. Outdoor pool. Bring
deck chairs and team tents for your comfort.
Directions: Coming in from the east, take 62B – not the bypass. To town, turn left
at stoplight just past Furniture Factory Outlet onto Club Blvd. Take to end and
turn right when it “t’s” onto Spring Street. Watch for pool entrance on the right.
Coming from the west, take 62B, not the bypass. To Cardinal Drive stop light – just
past Harp’s and Hastings. Turn right. Take to 1st stop sign – turn left onto Spring
Street. The pool is on your left.
Parking: Your team has been provided with a map of preferred parking. Lot #1 is
closest to the pool. Lot #2 is not that far away; so unload at pool quickly and you
can go up there. Lot #3 is close, but may not be open for the meet depending on
other activities at the park. Our parking directors will assist you.
Age Divisions: 6 & under, 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18. Relays are all &
under – one swimmer must be of the age group of the relay.
Please notify if any swimmer is “declared swimming up”.
Start time: 9:15 a.m.
Warm-ups: Will be assigned based on number of entrants per team.

Meeting times: Officials meeting 8:20 a.m.
Coaches meeting 9:00 a.m.
Timers meeting 8:45 a.m
Eligibility: Each swimmer must be a member of the Arkansas AAU and a member
of a South Wind Swim conference team.
Awards: Heat winner ribbons will be given.
Participation ribbons will be awarded to each 6 & under participant. (No
DQ’s given in this age group)
Individual events: Ribbons will be awarded 1st thru 8th place.
Relay events: Ribbons will be awarded 1st thru 4th place.
Scoring:
9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for individual, double for relays.
Events: Each swimmer may swim a maximum of 5 events and 2 relays. Swimmer
age as of June 1st, 2012 shall determine their age division unless they have declared
otherwise as of June 1st to South Wind Conference.
Deck entries will be allowed – see info above.
Rules: AAU/USA and South Wind rules shall be followed.

Timers: Visiting teams to provide 3 timers during meet. (This may be reduced and
we will let you know about that).
Concessions: Will be available at the meet. No glass containers will be allowed on
the pool deck.
Hospitality: Available for Coaches and Officials.
Swim shop will be available. Heat sheets will be available for purchase for $5.
Tobacco: Smoking and use of other tobacco products are prohibited on the pool
deck, bathrooms, spectator seating, standing areas and all other areas used by
swimmers during the meet or during the warm-ups periods in connection with the
meet.
Alcohol: The sale or use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all areas of the
venue. (USA Swimming Rules and Regulations).
No cell phones with camera function or cameras are allowed in bathroom areas.
Events: Standard per South Wind Conference.
Special note: If you have anyone who can work in Official status, we could use the
help, being early in season. Please contact Hope Normandy (870) 404-2128 or email
her at hopenormandy@hotmail.com Our team will probably have some “in training” to
mentor. We do have several t & s certified to work the meet however. If you have
someone who is under mentoring, let us know. We will have a referee from our
team.
Park Rules
During the active sports season the number of vehicles at each park and play area
are extensive. Please assist the city in keeping our parks a safe area.
Remember: Violators are subject to ticketing.
1. Be watchful of the numerous children running between and around vehicles.
2. No parking in the restricted handicapped areas unless properly permitted.
3. Respect no parking signs and roped off restricted areas.
4. No parking along curb edges. (Especially at Cooper Park).
5. Use designated parking lots and park in marked areas.
6. Follow 15-MPH speed limit in all parks.
7. No parking on restricted grassy areas, such as the pavilion area at Cooper.
8. Only drive on designated park roads.
9. Buses or RV’s must park in assigned areas only.
10. No parking is allowed in the Rapps Barren Settlement section of Cooper Park.
