Bucket Calf Show 1. Exhibitor must be enrolled in project # 135. 2. Calf must be born March 1 (of current year) to May 15 (of current year). 3. Calf must be owned and hand fed by project member since it was 2 weeks old. 4. Calf may be any breed or sex (heifer, steer or bull). 5. Calf is not eligible to be shown in other classes (beef or dairy). 6. Calf must be weaned at time of fair. 7. Calf should be broke to lead and be shown by proper method according to breed (beef or dairy). 9. Classes will be broken by exhibitor's age if necessary. 8. Each member is limited to no more that 2 calves. 10. Criteria of judging: 25% Showmanship 25% Condition, health and grooming of calf 20% Quality of calf (structural, soundness, etc.). 30% Knowledge gained (written test). A. Breed B. Age C. Feeding practices D. Growth changes (measurements of height & chest circumferences and/or weight). E. Medicines (vaccinations, worming, etc.). CLASSES: 311 - Dairy Exhibitors - age 8 and older 332 - Beef Exhibitors - age 8 and older Champion and Reserve Dairy Bucket Calf Champion and Reserve Beef Bucket Calf Point Value is 12-8-4 Deadline – June 5th June 6-July 1 – Late fee of $25/head After July 1 – show Exhibition only – no awards, no premium sale Bucket Calf Project ID Form All 4-H and FFA Bucket Calf members must own and/or have in their possession their project animals by: 1) the time the calf is two weeks old and 2) had been born between March 1 and May 15 of the current year. Each member may show no more than two (2) calves at the county fair. A health certificate is required when unloading at the fair. We accept all decisions of the Fair Board as final.
