Grant Guidelines
The Anne & Mary Arts & Environmental Education Fund was established in 2001 by a local family in
honor of their mothers. The family has a special interest in opening up new possibilities that can make
a difference in peoples’ lives. They have seen the positive impact of the arts and environmental
programs on their own children and want to make similar opportunities accessible throughout
Snohomish County.
The deadline for receipt of applications is on October 31, 2003 at 3 p.m. All applicants will be notified
by mail within eight weeks of this date. Typical grant amounts range from $500-$2,500.
Funding Priorities:
Arts--Emphasis will be given to programs that serve both youth and/or adults throughout Snohomish
County. The donor has a particular interest in arts education programs and programs that make art
accessible to the public.
Environmental Education--Grants will support environmental education programs focusing on youth
throughout Snohomish County.
Grant Criteria:







Applicants for funding must be tax-exempt under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Code.
The program or project must serve Snohomish County.
Only programs will be funded. Capital projects are not eligible.
Priority will be given to programs strong in partnerships and creative collaborations.
The grant may be used as seed money for a new program, or support for an existing one.
If the request is for a program funded by schools or government, the grant can be applied to
enhancements only. It cannot be used to replace public support.
The sponsoring organization must have a proven track record of success.

A list of the organization’s board and directors and their affiliations.
Optional materials: Brochures, annual report, or other relevant information about the organization.
