Introduction
Due to the MLA (Modern Language Association) pretest and future essay formats, it is necessary for scholars to master the format structure of
MLA.
Task
Scholars will take notes by answering targeted questions on a Web Quest
Notes Work Sheet and grade and correct a sample scholar essay using an
MLA rubric.
Process: What to Do
Part 1 Researching

Scholars will learn about the MLA by researching and answering questions for several MLA websites. The web quest questions sheet for note taking should be provide and is also available on page 6 of this document.

Go to this link and read and see the example of what a header
page looks like. This is the first page of an essay in MLA formatting.

Choose five different sources to cite, and take notes (use # 12 of the

Scholars will assess and correct the Scholar Example Essay (I will hand this out) by using the MLA rubric found on page 4 of this lesson. If you are absent, go to my website at http://collegewritinghapa.wordpress.com

With a red (or colored) pen, correct the MLA formatting. Make sure to initially circle the wrong format, and then show corrections in the margins.

Use the MLA rubric to grade the example essay for MLA format found on page 4 of this lesson.

Your Works Cited page and your corrections of the scholar sample essay will be evaluated with this MLA rubric.
