Purchase Donna Saiki’s round-trip airfare from Hilo to Honolulu for her initiation as HADK’s
Honorary Member on October 11, 2014
IMPORTANT DATES:
Timeline for Selection of Honorary Member, 2014 – 2016:
1. September, 2014
a. Chapters begin search for possible nomination for State Honorary Member.
b. Refer to Application for Honorary Member, H-124, ADK website.
c. Refer to Eligibility Requirements International Bylaws, ADK website
1. Have made an outstanding contribution in the fields of education, humanities,
sciences or arts on a state, provincial or national level.
2. Not be under contract to a school system at the time of her election or initiation
nor engaged as a professional educator.
3. Not have been an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa.
4. Be elected by a majority of the delegates present and voting at the convention.
5. Pay no dues, fees and assessments. The annual publication fee and the cost
of the Alpha Delta Kappa state/provincial/national honorary pin presented to the
honorary member shall be met by the respective state, province or nation.
2. September, 2015
a. Chapter selects one nominee.
b. Fills form H-124.
c. Writes a one page resume of nominee.
3. October 1, 2015
a. Submits form H-124 with one page resume to Honorary Member committee
b. Committee informs HADK Executive Board of nominations.
c. Committee sends applications/ resumes to International for approval.
4. December, 2015
a. Upon approval from International, Committee informs chapters of qualified
nominees, distributing forms and resumes.
b. Chapters discuss nominees.
5. March, 2016
a. At HADK Convention, Committee announces nominees, delegates vote, and
results are tabulated.
b. Honorary Member is elected.
6. April/May, 2016
Guidelines hereafter are a work in progress.
OTHER NOTES:
Donna Saiki will be initiated at Founders’ Day, October 11, 2014, at Honolulu Country Club.
Form H-133, Report of Initiation, must be filled in after initiation.
