Persons (with sufficient seniority) primarily engaged
in teaching rather than research.
Honorary Lecturers
Persons primarily engaged in teaching rather than
research.
Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturers
Persons primarily engaged in clinical teaching rather
than research, and have a clinical qualification.
Additionally individuals must have an NHS consultant
Contract.
Honorary Clinical Lecturers
Persons primarily engaged in clinical teaching rather

2 The period for which the title is required should normally not be more than three years; with
the prospect of renewal as appropriate.
3 The Bench Fee, if charged, will be notified in the appointment letter to be sent by Human Resources. It should
not normally be more than £6,000; a fee in excess of this may exceptionally be charged, but will be subject to
the specific approval of the Vice-Principal (or nominee).
4 For Honorary Appointments that are primarily associated with Clinical teaching, the form must
be signed by the appropriate Clinical Sub-Dean.
