Founders and Patriots
Membership is for a man of the age of 18 years or more, a citizen of the United States,
who is lineally descended, in the male line of either parent, from an ancestor who settled
in any of the colonies of America prior to May 13, 1657; and one or all of whose
intermediate ancestors in the same line, who lived in the period of the American
Revolution, from 1775 to 1783, adhered as patriots to the cause of the colonies, shall be
eligible for membership in the Order.

The National Huguenot Society
Formed to perpetuate the memory of the men and women in France known as
Huguenots who were persecuted in the 16th and 17th centuries and who emigrated to
North America. Membership is dependent upon proven Huguenot lineage and remaining

Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865
A female, direct line of descendants – from Veterans of the Union Army and Navy who
fought during the American Civil War.

Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (S.U.V.C.W.)
Formerly know as Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.)
Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) membership was restricted to individuals who had
served during the Civil War, thereby limiting the life span of the GAR.
Later, the GAR formed the Sons of Veterans of the United States of America (SV) with
membership open to any man who could prove ancestry to a member of the GAR or to a
veteran eligible for membership in the GAR.

Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (MOLLUS)
As a result of President Lincoln's death, a meeting of Philadelphia veterans was held to
plan for participation in his funeral arrangements. The Philadelphia officers, who served
as an honor guard for President Lincoln's funeral cortege, met again after the funeral was
over to establish a permanent organization of commissioned officers of the Union forces
during the Civil War and later included their male descendants.
