Summary: The 39 Clues is about a boy named Dan Cahill and
his sister Amy Cahill. Their grandma, Grace Cahill, just died and
they have to go to her funeral. Their Aunt Beatrice is their
guardian, but she technically doesn’t live with them. She lives on
the other side of town in a building that doesn’t allow kids. So
they have an au pair. Every couple weeks, Aunt Beatrice fired
their au pair and hired a new one. Once they got to the Cahill
mansion, they went to the grave yard and waited for the funeral to
start. Before it started, her lawyer, William McIntyre, told
everybody to look in their programs. If you were in her will, then
you would have a gold envelope in your program. Everybody that
had a gold envelope had to meet in the Great Hall. If you were in
the Great Hall, then you were chosen to participate in a contest. If
you wanted to, then under your chair there was an envelope with
the first clue in it. Then you could walk out of the room with one
million dollars.
