New synthetic flooring collection: Armstrong DLW Vinyl
Brilliant colours for floors
For generations, synthetics have proven to be an extremely
effective, high-quality alternative to natural materials. No vehicle
would run today, no medical procedure would be successful
without PVC and thermoplastics. When it comes to architecture,
plastics are experiencing an enormous resurgence in popularity,
for instance in the construction of the futuristic new Allianz
Arena in Munich. Spectators in the stadium are protected by a
roof made of translucent ETFE laminate that is self-cleaning,
extremely fire resistant, and able to adapt to various weather
conditions.
From a technical perspective, synthetics are often superior to
natural materials. Flooring made of stone, tile and wood is not
always the ideal solution, especially in areas requiring minimal
structural thickness and high levels of hygiene and durability.
This is also true when it comes to design. Today's synthetic
flooring can create attractive and surprising visual effects and
colours that have a distinctive appearance. Under the Armstrong
DLW Vinyl brand name, Armstrong now presents a new
collection of synthetic flooring that was developed in
collaboration with a large team of architects and designers from
across Europe.
The new Armstrong DLW Vinyl collection offers abstract and
realistic visual effects in a totally new range of colours. With 11
different structures and 180 fascinating colour tones, there is
virtually no limit to the effects that can be created on the floor. In
addition to a wide variety of colours and designs, this new vinyl
flooring features unique product advantages and is highly costeffective. Floor coverings in the new Armstrong collection last
longer because they come with the factory-applied PUR ECO
System, a high-quality, durable PUR coating that guarantees
maximum wear resistance and easy cleaning, resulting in low
maintenance costs. Thanks to the PUR ECO System, Armstrong
DLW Vinyl floorings are highly resistant to abrasions, scuffs and
scratches, and require no consolidation treatment throughout
the entire service life, provided that manufacturer's cleaning and
care recommendations are followed. The PUR ECO System
reduces maintenance costs by up to 30% and makes it easier to
meet the tight schedules in today's building industry.
Armstrong DLW Vinyl flooring in 11 inspiring designs
The high-quality Contour structure offers a unique chip look and
expressive designs. A range of finely graded grey tones
sprinkled with chips in vivid, intense accent colours creates
appealing contrasts. Favorite features a non-directional chip
design on a background tone, making it a striking alternative to
monochrome floors. Royal has a non-directional marble pattern
that is rich in contrasts. The classic tones of Royal create a
timeless, elegant design and new bold variations give the
traditional marbling pattern a surprisingly dynamic effect.
The fresh and youthful Contract Interior chip structure has been
completely redesigned with a new metallic effect. The avantgarde Perspectives meets current design requirements with
abstract visual effects like corroded metal and brushed concrete.
Timberline offers five modern wooden decors with different
colour interpretations.
Translations is a light marbled structure for all settings that
offers a wide range of colours to suit every taste and
outstanding value for money. The short directional Cenit
structure has been enhanced with new vivid colour accents and
neutral tones in contrasting shades. Solid is an economical
veined structure that offers neutral colour tones.
The conductive flooring variations Conductive (LG2) (used, for
example, in operating rooms) and ESD (LG1) (tailored to the
needs of the microelectronics industry) are available in the chip
structure Contour LG2 and the marbled look of the Royal LG1
structure. A bright Pastell LG2 structure with finely sprinkled
elements is also available. Armstrong has rounded out its
collection with the acoustic variations of Contract Interior and
Timberline. These floorings come from the factory with
additional foam backing for an outstanding impact sound
absorption of 19 dB and a high degree of walking comfort.
Armstrong DLW Vinyl flooring is available as running lengths or
tiles that can easily be combined with each other or other floors.
By using a mixture of colours and materials, designers can
create inspiring effects. Armstrong DLW Vinyl floorings can be
used in all types of settings, including public buildings, schools
and hospitals, and their high standards of durability, hygiene and
conductivity even make them suitable for operation rooms,
laboratories and microelectronic production plants. Thanks to its
quick and easy installation, Armstrong flooring is also the ideal
solution for renovation work and new shop and restaurant
designs.
Colour worlds pamphlet
Armstrong has created a planning tool for architects and
designers to complement the new Armstrong DLW Vinyl
collection. This pamphlet illustrates examples of colour concepts
to inspire the design of floors, walls and furniture. Various
floorings and structures are arranged according to colour
families and individual colour worlds that make distinctive design
statements and express a variety of moods and atmospheres.
Intense yellow, orange, red and brown tones characterise the
Plastic Revolution world, a perfect retro mix from the seventies
created by Armstrong as an homage to the days of flower
power. Perfect Harmony includes colour combinations in ochre,
orange, green and anthracite – soothing colours that convey a
sense of calm and deep-flowing energy. A brighter effect is
achieved with the vivid colours of Endless Power, a selection
ranging from blue, purple and pink to intense green that radiates
dynamic force, drive and sheer energy. Pure Luxury stands for
elegance, sophistication and a touch of extravagance
symbolised by pastel shades of blue, rosé and grey with metallic
effects. Dark grey and light green variations complemented by
white and transparent blue tones are combined in the colour
world Light and Shadow, which uses clear contrasts and colour
accents to create a refined, modern ambience. Last but not
least, Silent Energy presents harmonious, earthy and relaxing
colours in a wide range of rich and soothing green tones
combined with visual effects of dark wood and stone. This colour
world creates an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. An
additional pamphlet has been organised along traditional lines
from the new Armstrong DLW Vinyl collection.
All floorings from the new Armstrong DLW Vinyl collection are
antistatic and ideal for office chairs on wheels and floor heating.
An extra thick and densely cured PUR coating makes the
flooring highly resistant to stains, chemicals, alkaline solutions,
and disinfectants. For critical hygiene areas, special coving
treads are available with matching colour welding rods. In
addition, Armstrong DLW Vinyl flooring is slip and fire resistant,
and self-extinguishing in case of fire. The structures
Perspectives, Timberline, Contract Interior and Translations
come in running lengths with a width of 2 metres, while Contour,
Favorite, Royal, Cenit and Solid are available in widths of 180
cm. With the exception of special floorings, the thickness is
always 2 mm. All floorings except Timberline are also available
as tiles measuring 60.8 cm x 60.8 cm.
Technical specifications and an overview with original samples
of all floorings in the new Armstrong DLW collection is available
in two pamphlets arranged according to colours and products.
