Recommended reading - Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging. Farman, Nortje and Wood Mosby. St. Louis. 1993. Dental Radiology. Brocklebank. L. Oxford Medical Publications 1997 Principles of Dental Imaging. Langland, OA and Langlais. RP Williams and Wilkins. 1997. Soft cover and very reasonable. The first exam counts 20%, the second exam 30% and the clinical 50%. Note - you are required to pass both didactic and clinical parts. NOTE - 75% is a passing grade in an exam. If you fail one exam you are required to average more than 75% for the combined score to obtain a didactic passing grade. The lecture course is approximate as some subjects will require more time than others. Students are required to wear their radiation monitoring badges whenever they are taking radiographs anywhere in the School. Monitoring badges MUST be exchanged during the first week of January, April, July and October. Losing a badge OR handing a badge in late will result in a $10.00 penalty. Clinical requirements. For FMS - You are required to obtain 50 credits in the Fall semester to fulfill your requirements. During the Summer semester you are required to take 2 FMS and 2 pans, write reports on them and PERSONALLY discuss them with either Dr. Singer or myself during your rotation; in addition 3 FMS's with critiques must be handed in to fulfill your requirements. Should reports not be accepted, you will be required to write reports on OTHER radiographs that you have taken. Work must be handed in at the end of every day to avoid penalties. These are minimum requirements per semester. It is essential to make a copy of the Student Performance form prior to handing it in with the radiographs to be graded. Lecture Schedule. 2000.
