Classification Computing > Computer Support Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 The term technical computer problems refers to problems discovered by the investigation of a computer system rather than the problems encountered by endusers. 2 Performance of all outcomes is to be carried out in accordance with organisation standards and procedures, unless otherwise stated. Organisation standards and procedures may cover: quality assurance, documentation, security, communication, health and safety, and personal behaviour. Range reference manual, fault database, supplier staff. 1.3 An industry recommended procedure is used to identify the cause of the problem. 1.4 Undiagnosed problems are forwarded to technical support staff. Outcome 2 Provide solutions to technical computer problems. Evidence requirements 2.1 Estimates of the costs and benefits of the solution allow a judgement to be made about implementing the solution. 2.2 A description of the solution allows a judgement to be made about the feasibility and effectiveness of the solution. 2.3 A plan for implementing the solution estimates the time and resources required, and specifies milestones. Outcome 3 Maintain technical expertise in a field of computing.
