SOLO was born when Nirmal K. Jain, a veteran of over 10 years In Aluminium Pressure Die
Casting and Sandeep K. Jain a young entrepreneur & graduate of The Indian Institute of
Technology with a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, decided to join hands to start a State of
the Art Precision Machining Facility in 1991.
A humble beginning was made with a paid up capital of INR 0.5 Million and an institutional
loan of INR 2 Million. And ONE CNC Lathe. The operations started within the same premises as
the Pressure Die Casting unit in New Delhi.
Ever since SOLO has grown to 4 companies, 3 Plants in Gurgaon and 28 CNC machines
covering Turning, Machining and Grinding and a team of over 120 dedicated personnel. We are
manufacturers and exporters of CNC machined parts and precision machined parts.

The 1st CNC Machine came tooled up for PLUG PINION BEARING, a machined pressure Die
Cast Component of M/s Sona Koyo Steering Systems Ltd. - The largest Steering systems
manufacturer in India. This combination of Pressure Die casting and Precision Machining was
the synergy that Sona was looking for. Till date Solo is the sole supplier of this component. In
fact, SOLO is the sole supplier for all their current components to Sona, with a Value Addition
of over INR 76 Million and Turnover of INR 200 Million.
A reason for the above is that SOLO believes in total satisfaction of customer to be of prime
importance in building a successful business, mutually dependable relationship and everlasting
faith. We therefore, incessantly strive to provide our customers topmost quality, and
ultimately, the highest level of customer satisfaction. A natural evolution of this thought
process has been that SOLO was awarded the much accredited ISO/TS 16949:2002 certificate
in March 2005.
